What was the most important goal that you achieved this year and how much did you need to get out of your comfort zone to achieve it?

I helped cheer my fiance' up, she had been down for several weeks. I had to completely change my conversations with her to do it.

@Offmytrack

Seeing your loved one spiralling down must have been worrying for you. How is she now?

When you say you completely had to change conversation, what do you mean if you feel free to share?

@HaloCompany The goal that I achieved was becoming a yoga teacher... it was an uplifting, challenging, learning process. It took all of my self to achieve completion. I had to push myself harder than ever to get through. I had to change the way I treat myself on a regular bases..... look within to become the greatest version of myself! I gave up staying up late, eating pass 6pm. I found my strength of self.

I would say that a goal that I was able to achieve this year is to implement the old adage to not dwell on things that you cannot control or hope to change, but to focus your thoughts on moving forward in life. This has helped me to accept and embrace where I am at this time in my life with gratitude.

As an introvert, my goal was to put myself out there and meet some people ... find some new interests. It was awkward; but I visited an activity center that had groups and classes on various things. I paid membership fees for the year, and made it there three times. Then the Covid lockdown hit and it remains closed. I tried, anyway.

@Justme1225

You might have felt disappointed about paying for a whole year and not using it but on the other hand you did something which was completely out of your comfort zone as an introvert and that's something you can truly give yourself credit for!

It might not have worked as desired this time but you did the first step. Hope you will try again when the Covid situation is under control.

@amiablePeace77 this year I learned to set attainable goals then worked to attain them. It boosts my self esteem to complete a project and it leaves a space to take on another one.

This year I learned patience more than any other year. Take a breath and let it out. How simple can that be?

@soulsings

Setting attainable goals is a smart choice!

Nice that you see the positive in the challenge of this year. Learning patience is one or maybe even the most important skill to learn - it changes your whole life, your whole perception of the world. I am not yet at your point but still learning laugh

@, myself to meditate every day and stick to my list of activities to improve my mental health. I did have to push myself to meditate because it seemed like it wasn’t working. So it was an activity based on some future payout that I hoped was coming. I also had to push myself to try to socialize more. Covid has prevented most of that. But I even just talked small talk to people, and tried to talk without getting stressed out. My voice still shakes sometimes and I get very nervous to the point that I can’t think, but I’m trying hard.

@purpleTree4652 glad you are trying. I find that the more I do group discussions the better I get at conversation in real life.

my goal was to find a new place to live. i did that.

wayyyy way out of my comfort zone.

also a complete disaster. i'm struggling.

*side note: am i supposed to be positive and cheery here? everyone else seems to be. i'm not a happy camper. so it seems disingenuous to be cheerful.

It must have been terrible for you to realize that the new place is not what you expected, hugs. I hope it will be possible to adjust to what you are facing and you find support here.
