Happy Monday everyone, I hope you had a great weekend laugh

Changing the outcome of the story in your head surprise

We all have them, negative thoughts, negative stories playing in our head. We might just sit somewhere at home thinking about going into a shop or to the doctor and all over sudden a negative story unfolds in our mind, like a bad movie playing. We see ourselves going to a place being treated badly, maybe being ignored or even treated disrespectfully or with stigma. Our whole body changes in the now, we become tense.

Now repeat the story in your mind again but this time imagine consciously that you are treated nicely, imagine how people smile at you.

How did this feel to you?

I try to post in my journal every day, but it is difficult. I have been keeping a journal since my wife got pregnant. My daughter is 32 years old today. I have filled two journals with writiting.

@Offmytrack

Wow offmytrack, 32 years + journalling, awesome. Those must be big journals with lots of thoughts to reread, it's a life story.

Such a great- "make your own reality" check. Spent the day dealing with someone elses pit-pat pettiness. What a waste of time. Will definately rewrite the story- great fun.

I have no idea where to post. I don't think I have a clue on much. I am so so so LOST. I don't think I even fathom what is up or down. At least the Holidays kept me busy. I am 56. I live with my big for 14 years.

Well I sent. Kudos to me. I had a terrible incident 431 days ago but who's counting. I am more than overwhelmed. My depression, anxiety, grief and PTSD are Out of CONTROL. I am infinitely LOST.

Being strong for my 3 20something yr old has left me delayed in my emotions from this. As with most Moms it is them that come first. Omg I am so so sad. 500 things to say and I can't seem to frieking type. Ok well at least a start

I want to go home.. I have lost everything. My home , my brother , my church , my job , my friends , my car. How do I even start all over??? God help me

Ok rolling here. You can call me Di. I don't live with big I live with my significant other for 14 years. Unfortunately we are both so messed up. He tries though , more than me. I just got back to reality after Christmas. I would have been happy not to return. But.....this IS my new reality.

I hope I can be brave tomorrow. Throat is so tight. An elephant on my chest. The weight of my pathetic life crushing me from the inside out.

@95969

I am very sorry to hear that you're going through such rough times. HUGS (if you accept). There are no quick or easy tips for dealing with grief, PTSD, depression and anxiety. It's a lot to deal with at the same time.

Nobody take the pain away, but I hope that coming to this site will help you. I hope that connecting to a listener 1:1 https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/ and talking about your feelings will help you, this would be your own private space for sharing more confidential information. heart

@95969 These are some good ideas from amiablepeace. Also sometimes joining a support group with people who have been thru a similar situation can be helpful also. Some years back I was overwhelmed by grief,PTSD,major depression,and anxiety. There was no quick fix,but I made it thru with with a lot of support and professional help. I hope that you are able to get the support an help that you need.heart

First , thank you!!!! I think one of my biggest challenges has been exactly that....isolation. We are in 32 states now. When people get displaced in rural area there is no housing. You are forced to leave. Thank you again.
