when I tried to reply to the main post, it wouldn't give me the keyboard. I switched to the website. Any ideas why?

So in answer to the above question by amiablepeace, I don't like to "complain" to people. I think because my mother never did. She always replied that everything was fine, and that's what I do. I feel like no one wants to know if I'm having problems.

MotherofCats1955, first of all I like to assure you that we here do want to hear about was is burdening you. I can understand that if you have been brought up not to talk about problems it is hard to change in adulthood. I hope those that you will find trust to chat here 1:1.
I talk about it all the time online but I do not think it helps me to do so.

Please do not give up, stay connected and keep talking. It might feel now like things will never change but as long as you try and keep up hope you're moving forward and better days will come.

this world became very fast and often people are stressed out so they live more inside and do not see how others are suffering and that gives easily the impression they don't care. It's hard for those who are looking for support or just kindness.
We do care about you though, care about how you feel and how you are getting through.
@amiablePeace77im not, 1 step forward, 2 back. It's just a seesaw right now. I've never dealt with this type of feeling before. Glad you say you care, but right now, I feel what I feel.

I wonder whether your feelings are buried deep down to protect yourself from getting hurt again? Hope it will change again and you will start slowly to feel how much your are appreciated.

mutter3, it's not easy to trust others but I do hope you find people here whom you can trust and feel safe it will not be used against you I learned in real life to choose the people wisely I am sharing "secrets" with.

What do you think makes it hard for people to open up and talk about their problems, what makes it hard for you?
I think i often feel that my problems aren't as important as everyone elses and i don't want to bother them with my issues. I also sometimes think that people just aren't as interested in me and don't want to hear what's on my mind.

MissPen, I find we often see the value in others but have a hard time seeing our own value. You matter, how you feel matters! Peope often do not show interest because they are living in their heads but it does not necessarily mean they are not interested. We care for you

embarrassment, fear of judgement.... interesting that this is more a IRL phenomina, online I get chatty, wonder if that is straight anonymity or if distance / ability to turn away is much of a contributing factor

Anonymity can definitively play a big role for people to find it easier to chat online, but also knowing they are in a place where is no judgement. I hope you feel like this here.

I think a mix of being stabbed in the back and taught that it's not okay to open up. Humans also have a tendency to judge others on how they are feeling or acting towards feelings.
For me, I've never been one to open up and express myself a mix with anytime I'd open up I was shut down and told they don't matter.

So many people have many problems, and it is hard to talk about them, because the problems are theirs and they don't want to make things worse for other people.
What makes it hard for you? I don't have many problems, and there are few people I can talk about them to.
