I love you, Leo.
One second ago. First time in the year, I think.
Is it OK that I love myself? There are some things in me that I do not like... so I am feeling guilty for saying myself "I love you" when that is not maybe the case nor I think it should be...
@amiablePeace77
I love the animals couple picture of your initial thread, also.
What is the name in English for those animals?
From what internet site do you get such beautiful pictures?

@ThankYouForLettingMeTryingToHelp
I think those are brown deers, sweet aren't they
Here is a site which offers lots of pics https://www.shutterstock.com/search/free

Awesome! That's probably the best thing you can tell yourself in my opinion. Love yourself with all your flaws which make you so beautifully unique
. Often, we do not learn it when growing up to we have to teach ourselves as adults.

@amiablePeace77
Hmmmm, I don't ever think i've said that to myself. It has taken me years just to be good to myself without feeling guilty.
Still a work in progress!
Btw This is the 50+ community. How can i go about finding someone in this age group who can relate to having adult children ?
I wouldn't mind having that option:)
@neverendingTime23
It is okay to feel good and it is okay to make ourselves feel good but unfortunately many of us do not learn this when growing up. Glad this changed and I hope your self-love will get stronger from day to day.
If you like to hear other opinions regarding for example challenges with adult children you can make a thread here https://www.7cups.com/forum/50OverCommunity_193/ChallengesWeFace_1702/
Kindly let me know if you need any assistence.

Opps i guess i didn't click submit the first time
Im just grateful i am finally able to be kind with myself without feeling guilty about it. This has taken me years. I haven't gotten to the point of being able to tell myself that "i love me" A work in progress
Btw can anyone with grown children like myself be willing to chat with me about that issue? please pm me, if you can or if you know someone who can!
Thank you.Happy Monday

Honestly I love me. I am happy with me. Agree do have drawbacks but that's what makes us human right? We can't be perfect .
Between, lovely picture and loved the way you put love with respect.verily both are two sides of same coin👍
I dont think Ive ever done that. Not how I was brought up. And I really never liked me. But I am working on it. Thanks for always posting thought provoking questions!
@amiablePeace77 I am so much kinder and compassionate towards myself now & also very protective when it comes to my peace as well ...
@Pageswithinmyheart
You do well by giving yourself compassion and set boundaries.
@amiablePeace77 I agree dear
I did better. I'm living closer to 'the reason I'm here', and have even found a couple people who share that vision. I'm the care-giver to a SO who is losing ground on being able to function (bed-ridden most days), and I feel guilty some days that I'm not the one that's ill.
For the most part, life is grand, and tinged with sadness. I guess it's the same it ever was.
@thoughtfulTriangle4746
I am sorry to hear about your challenging situation. It is common for caregivers to have painful feelings such as guilt, sadness and anger, they become like any other pain. To be as effective as possible as a caregiver you have to care for the caregiver first and that means you. You count, You are worthy, You are important, not only the one you care for. HUGS.

Hope you will find something helpful.
Reflecting back on this year . Did you treat yourself with the love and respect you truly deserve and when was the last time you told yourself "I love you"? No I didn't. I was depressed a lot of this year. And I don't think I have ever told myself that "I love you". I don't. I put up with myself, like myself a little bit.
@Offmytrack
Sorry to hear that year was so hard for you, I hope next year will be much better and you also will like yourself more.. I see you showing compassion for others on the site, and hope that you will also give yourself the compassion you need.
