Mindfulness and Music
An opportunity to practice mindfulness in your everyday life is when you're listening to music. So today I like to invite you to listen to a piece of music and really focus on the sound and vibrations of each note.
If listening to music is not what feels right you might look at a picture and focus on the individual colours and shapes.
Please come back and share with us what kind of feelings that music stirred up within you and other in-the-moment sensations.

@MidwesternCalmSeeker Actually, no. I looked through the list of people. Most of the listeners who are actually available look really young...and I really think I need someone a little more mature to talk to. I used the advanced search for listeners more suited for me. Tried to connect with two or three of them and had no luck.
It took everything I have to even get this far. But realizing there really isn't anyone here to chat with just kind of shut me down even more.
I'm about one step away from being in crisis...so really not in a good place.

Hi. I feel your pain. I finally got out of bed to take a shower which I hadn't done in 4 days. Been dealing with depression for 40 years.
@Vintagelung Yep, that's me too. Can't get out of bed most days,literally. Just lay in bed and play video games. Numb.
Don't know what possessed me but I sold my house not loong ago. bought a place in the middle of nowhere. It's falling apart. Kinda like me. And I can't bring myself to do anything about it at all. Ladders in the middle of the room. Paint cans all over the place. Clothes piled on the floor.
The weather is miserable most of the time. Cold and raining.
No one to talk to.

I haven't cleaned my place since the Pandemic began. Didn't see any point since everything is broken anyway.

Me too. I don't know what to do to get better. I'm just so frightened.
@Vintagelung I'm trying to get some help. But it's a challenge. I found a place, a therapist, I thought I might like. But they're only doing phone calls, no in person meets. And I can't really use my phone at this house because I can't get service. I really am in the middle of nowhere. So I drove up to the nearest town to call the other day. But sitting in my car in the little town park felt so awkward that I couldn't bring myself to call. And now it's the weekend and there is literally no one to turn to at all.

Not really. I saw the dead maybe 7 or 8 times in the early 90's. Mostly because I was dating someone who was a deadhead. Although I am a huge fan of their music.
I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to what music I like.

im all over the map musically too. Everything but hip-hop. Just got the complete Woodstock festival on CD that Rhino put out. It's like 34 discs long.
I don't understand some Jazz though like what makes Miles Davis great and I own Kind Of Blue & Bitches Brew & still don't get it.

I like Kind of Blue. I used to have a cd of it. And a couple of Mingus cd's. Chet Baker. I don't listen to jazz that much. There's some hip hop I like. But mostly I listen to pop/rock stuff.
I bet that Woodstock compilation is awesome.
Last year was going to be my year of music festivals. I had 4 festivals lined up for the year. I got to go to one in March. And then coronavirus happened and everything was cancelled. Kind of bummed about that.

It made me feel like I was flying in a plane at 30 thousand feet and the clouds are beautiful in the sunlight.
Then I am in a field in the mountains overlooking the ocean as the sunlight shimmers on the water.
