Hi lovely people in the Mindfulness Community, how are you doing?
Not knowing what you like, what you are passionate about or what you are interested in, what is meaningful for you is not only possible - is much more common than you might think.
Is there something you loved doing a long time ago? What do you spend hours reading about? What are you proudest of?
Or do you have a hard time even knowing what you enjoy or find meaning in?

Is there something you loved doing a long time ago? Sailing. I used to be a sailor, now I'm not.
What do you spend hours reading about? I don't spend much time reading, although I read very well.
What are you proudest of? My fiance'. She is wonderful to me.
@Offmytrack
A sailor, wow! Riding the waves of the ocean must have felt like total freedom! I could imagine you've seen many places too. What were the best places you ever went?
@amiablePeace77
Catalina Island and Santa Cruz Island. Both are wonderful.

I used to spend a lot of time with family and friends but now I spend more time with myself and delve within.
I don't go searching for anything in particular rather what is meant for me comes my way like a divine gift...and it is mostly on POSITIVE MENTAL THINKING AND LIVING. Also on HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF MY LIFE.
I am most satisfied rather than proud of the way/direction my life is going towards... Which is a SPIRITUAL, HOLISTIC & MEANINGFUL LIFE
built on the Mantra... SHARING IS CARING.![]()

@RideaRainbow
I love what you shared here! To me living a spiritual, holistic and meaningful life is the best we can do and yes "Sharing is caring".
Thanks so much 👍
Something I do that I've done for a long time: crochet! My grandmother let me.watch her many years ago, and my mom got me started. I'm I'm master crocheter now. What do I read about the most: murder. I'm a criminal investigator so I'm always reading murder fiction. What am I most proud of: my marriage, my daughters, and my degree (which I went after at the age of 38 after a divorce from hell).
@JustBeachy68
Crochet is an amazing activity to keep the brain fit too and having achieved a degree after a divorce at 38 - thumbs up! Sorry to hear about your divorce though.
The divorce, while not what anyone ever wants, was the best thing for me. He was abusive. Thank you 💜

1. Is there something you loved doing a long time ago? What do you spend hours reading about? What are you proudest of?
I used to love to roller skate and garden, but not at the same time. 😊
I don’t spend hours reading anything. My life is still frenetic right now.
That I earned a private pilots license many years ago.
2. Or do you have a hard time even knowing what you enjoy or find meaning in?
Yes, sometimes I do.
@purpleTree4652
Wow, I must feel awesome being up in the clouds in a private plane! Do you still fly at times, how is it or was it for you being up there?
Too much stress, rushing around and all the pressure of things we have to face in life can build up and make us feel empty and not able to enjoy things we did before and even find life meaningless. Sorry that your life is so frenetic rn, I hope that mindfulness will help you to regain balance. What have you done recently for self care?
@amiablePeace77, It was so much fun, flying, most of the time. Once, I was really scared. But the rest of the time was peaceful and beautiful and fun. I haven't flown in many years.
I meditate, and exercise.

Is there something you loved doing a long time ago? Running long distance around the roads for 10+ miles at a time. Also, playing a lot of basketball in the gyms, in a collage and at a university. I also liked swimming laps for over an hour in the pool at a time. I used to run competatively for a business and I was part of their team, with each of us in diff age groups, comprising the team. I loved the running the best of all of it, if it was in a race, across the country, on my own (loved that), or whatever.
What do you spend hours reading about? I've had 3 eye surgeries, with one eye surgery that I was blind from before the surgery and can now see colors and shapes--from being psysically attacked of course, but, it is ok, I learned from it and am used to it. Also, b/c they would not believe me that I had bad CPTSD and DID and kept insisting it was just depression, as they were just not knowledgeable or equipped to even know. They were going to deny me any more treatment unless i had ECT's. It ended up being 8 ECT's and I finally got angry at them, as they were not helping a bit (because it wasn't depression, it was my CPTSD and DID and they just wouldn't listen). That was a little over 10 years ago, away from my regular psychiatrist that knew better. Since having those 8 ECT's, I have never been able to read a single book anymore, remember any of the characters in them, the plot, or anything. Yes, I have tried. I did progress from not being able to read for almost 2 years, to trying to read magazines with that not working, and went on to try 2 books I had here already. Now, I only sometimes read some of my Study Application Bible from 2 kind friends from church and have to read and reread and reread it over and over and over and still do not remember much of any of it. I am just mad at myself for allowing them to do the ECT's. It is my own fault. I used to love to read crime fiction books. I am also very thankful that I can now write/type again. I am very blessed to be able to do this again. It makes me very happy, even if I do not remember what I have written, ususally.
What are you proudest of? Many of the things that some of the people I love have done and how they are.
Or do you have a hard time even knowing what you enjoy or find meaning in? I find meaning in my faith, yes. After that, I find meaning in being good to others in ways that I am able to do so mentally and physically.
Is there something you loved doing a long time ago?
I liked going to the movies. I would drive into the city, an hour away, to see foreign movies that don't play in the small town theaters. The good foreign movies stopped coming to the cities near me about 20 years ago, so I have to buy movies on DVD or blu-ray.
What do you spend hours reading about?
I read a lot of things. I'm on my second book on sexual abuse of boys because I'm trying to help myself. It's part of my therapy, sort of. I've been reading "true" ghost stories, too.
What are you proudest of?
It's hard to be proud of anything. I guess it would be my B.A. in Cinema. I did good work on my essays, screenplay, etc., for my classes. That was over 30 years ago.
Or do you have a hard time even knowing what you enjoy or find meaning in?
It's more difficult to enjoy things now. There's too much on my mind. Maybe it's because of the stage of therapy I'm in...? I can't find any meaning in anything. I've been trying to write some short horror stories, but I have no one to share them with. They're not all that good, anyway.
@WharfRat
I wish you didn't have to go through that kind of abuse, hugs. Sexual absuse is always hard to deal with but I believe particularly for boys
. Nice that you support yourself too by reading helpful literature! Never forget, we are always here for you, hgus.
I wonder whether you ever considered to post one of your stories in the hobby zone? https://www.7cups.com/home/hobbyzone/
Meditation and exercise sounds real good!
