Example:
I used to tell myself, I cannot go to that place and had all sorts of excuses but really I did not want to go there.

@amiablePeace77That's an easy one. I can't live with these people. I just started moving in at the beginning of September. They paid for the movers. I can't live here. It is due to many reasons. I'm stuck here though for now. I can't afford to live anywhere else. So I need to break it to them slowly and get them thinking of how they need to plan for me not to be here.

Nice WharfRat! I think we learn to be judgemental in early years so a lot does not reach our consciousness immediately when it happens, hope you will be forgiving to yourself too.
I am really beginning to understand and learn how to be mindful and in the present moment. Starting to feel some results in meditating also. How wonderful

In order to be more honest with myself I need less self-judgement and more compassion. In order to be more honest with others, I need to feel I am safe with them, that my boundaries are respected, that they respect that I have feelings. I dont feel that often with my family, or some of them. I relate strongly to purple's post about not being able to live where she is. My living situation is very difficult, but I cannot leave yet for financial and practical reasons.

It seems you're in a tough situation and too much self criticism will only make things harder . This is a time that your soul needs care, kindness and love. I hope you will learn to be gentle with yourself to avoid adding more to the challenges you already have.
That I need to stop putting things off.

Sometimes it's just hard to get started. I find giving yourself little rewards can be very helpful.

I am accepting, after many years passed, that I was a homeless person. I couldn't face it, and my relatives think that homeless means sleeping on the sidewalk. There are other situations of homelessness, I now know.

Hugs (if you accept), we can be homeless living in a home and that too can be very hard. I hope you feel home where you are now
When I find myself strugelling for something I ask myself what would I get, if that is for myself or the others.

What is something you might need to be more honest with others or yourself ? That I need to work on not feeling so insecure. People believe just the opposite, because of the way I carry myself.

It must be a hard to wear that mask all the time . I believe though many people do it, hide their true feeling. I hope coming here will help you to see your value and also to embrace the ackward at times. Noone is perfect.
