Cozy Place For 50+ Members and others too!
Good morning This is a place that started because there was no way to private message between members. So, feel free to chat together here!
I couldn't figure out a good way for members to chat, so I've set up a tiny house for us here. :) Anyone can join us, but at least we have an easy way for members to find each other now. Notice the house has a pet bed-- I love animals. I currently have a black and white kitty and I used to have a dog too, but he passed in N200ov. Do you have any pets?
My dog passed on last November, I don't really have any pets, my daughter has an orange fluffy cat, but he doesn't seem to like me. Looks like a nice place to sit and chat with folks, wish I had more to say.
@Offmytrack Hey you are certainly welcome here. Sorry to hear about your loss of a fuzzy one too. Do you celebrate Halloween?
@Zengrl, I do celebrate Halloween. We go wtih the Teal Pumpkin Project and give away toys as well as candy. Let the kids make their own choice.
@Offmytrack Hey just wanted to let you know that we changed the name of this thread so anyone can have a safe space for chatting. I had never heard of the Teal project before but having a choice seems very smart for Halloween. Looking forward to chatting more. ☺️

@Lauren63 I think you are nice, and never said anything that even implies you are anything but nice. I just didnt want to delete the thread without an explanation to the other person. The other person didnt say why they were here other than that it looked like a friendly place. I think it would have been confusing to just delete it. Now the person understands. Im not sure what your history is with 7 Cups, but just know that I wanted you to have a safe place. There is nothing more to read into this and nothing negative has happened. I want you to be happy and Im fine to delete this. Im also still happy to continue talking with you and whoever else I meet. Im the one that made the choice to start a dialogue with you, so hopefully you see I only want want is good for you.
@Zengrl this was making me feel more lonely, not because of you, because you said and friends. No one else wanted to be here. At least not for me. Maybe for you that I couldnt see. I dont know.

@soulsings Thats the way Thanksgiving should be! Same at my house, casual. At this point Im not even sure how many are coming. Not going to stress about it (hopefully)!
@Lauren63 that is a very open minded way to approach that. My dad would take all the leftover turkey and put it in freezer ziplock bags and freeze it for quick meals later.

@Zengrl we have a club we belong to and they put on a Thanksgiving dinner so we just show up and help clean up and serve although I help in the kitchen when they let me! I used to cook for a hospital when I was going to college.

@Lauren63 SoulSings continues to talk to you in this cozy place. Ive seen people getting missed in chatrooms—it is easy for that to happen. I tried to welcome people when I went to a discussion because Im like you and dont want people to feel sad either. I couldnt even keep up with the flow. While I would type one comment someone would already be entering. We are all still here and are talking to you. We have no reason not to like you. Trust that you are a kind and empathic person and believe that people will like you. That is the truth here. This is a volunteer community so its not like people are getting paid. I see Souls name on so many threads across 7 Cups. Thats a lot of people to care for and some are facing some pretty dire situations. You may be too. Thats why it is so important for us to work hard at communication and really trust each other. Sending my love to you, most especially today. You have the power to help people too. 🥰

@Lauren63. Everything is my fault. Has been will be. Time to go. Ive had posts deleted before. But I never was that horrible. And it was not deleted. I tried in the chat rooms. I was impressed the 1st time. And the 2nd. But when I went 2 days this week and everyone , everyone else was greeted except me. Maybe I am too sensitive. So leaving is the answer.
@Lauren63 I dont know anything about fault here but Im sure it is fixable whatever it is. Its true that you can choose to leave or choose to stay. If you leave you give up the chance to practice communication and kindness with the safety of an avatar. You also lose the Spirit Path which helps to build positive habits and the check-ins. I think the most important thing you would lose is the potential of friendships. I used to end relationships and friendships in the past with excuses. I would say people didnt care or just imagine they didnt want to spend time with me. I learned that in psychology that is called sabotaging relationships. It was because I was too scared to face the fact someone may actually like me or spend time with me. So Im sharing my story hoping you dont make the same mistake I did. You are starting to form relationships here and people are talking to you. Maybe you can also start reaching out instead of waiting for people to reach out to you. Everyone needs practice with communication, especially when we rely on text. So Im encouraging you to stay and to take the chance of friendship. Im here and others are too. 🦄

@Lauren63 I didnt see what you wrote in the chat room. If you tell me what you wrote, maybe I can figure out why people would have said that. Ive personally never seen you write something that would be racist.
@Lauren63 Hey I just read the chatroom rules and it sounds like there are bots that can give warnings. So maybe you typed a word and the algorithym of the bot thought the word might be racist. If that is the case then no one would have seen the message except for you. So, did someone actually say you were racist or did the app give you a warning?
@Zengrl. I was told I am a racist and a bigot. I should not be supported by anyone. So I guess this is the end. Hope your room gets used by a lot of folks. I am not racist or a bigot, but the people here will not tell a teen that they are wrong. And they will let an older person be berated. Just like the rest of the world. As I have said before, I have had posts deleted. But when told why, I eventually accepted it. But dont ever do that to a teen.
@Lauren63 Sorry I wasnt there to help the situation. Lamguage can be a tricky thing. Anyway I respect whatever choice you make. I still think you could continue and the problem would go away. Sometimes people need time to gain trust. Hope the rest of your day is ok.

I respect your decision and hope you find a way not to react whenever people say or think things. This will make you stronger and more resilient.
When I was a kid we had a saying that we said when people called us names "Sticks and stones may break my bones but names can never hurt me." This is true when we do not react.

I can only have pets low on inhalent allergens, so now it's fish and snails. My husband has just reduced the number of tanks, as they are really moreso his thing, but I tend to think of them as pets more than he does.
I like the picture, it's nice and bright, the sun is setting way too early for my liking at this time of year!

@Zengrl No cats, I'm super allergic and the allergen is still in their skin, saliva and urine. I have problems with the fish as it is sometimes, as the food can trigger my asthma when I feed them.

Hi all, I am new here. I have 2 cats and had animals I had to give up in Oct 2015 that still breaks my <3 ....I had a rescue my bf came home with in July 2014 and he passed in Aug 2016 at his foster home (vet tech found a place for him and my other dog when we had to give up our animals---we were able to visit). Kasey Lynn aka Crabby I got at 6 weeks old, full bred Mal and put her down June 1 of this year and am still heart broken over that, too.............thanks for letting me talk
