I spent ten years volunteering with people who were blind and people who has sight issues, fundraising, raising awareness, I learnt so much from it 💜💕

Volunterring was where I found myself as a teenager. I felt like a misfit, and in volunteering I found people who welcomed me. And a sense of purpose. Something I could do that was helpful.

I volunteered with animals. Because I understood animals much better than people.

I ended up working for charities for 15 years. Which, because I could have earned more elsewhere, was kinda giving my knowledge. But I got just as much back.

I moved out of charities for health reasons, and was pleased to discover I could help others thru 7 cups. So now I'm helping people. I hope.

I would like to do so much volunteering when I'm retired. Maybe go back to animal rescue. Listening to kids read at school. (I'm so grateful I can read cos I can learn anything, and I'd like yo hive others that chance.) Maybe fostering kids. I don't think I will have enough time!

@amiablePeace77 At one point of time I couldn't fathom the idea of volunteering but eventually I did volunteer in my childrens school, as well as a hospital and at church--so thus far I have assisted in the lunch room, assisted helping children with homework in the after school program, worked the bingo hall. answers phone in rectory and worked the annual festival. I was eucharistic minister both in church and in a hospital, lector and worked in gift shop at church. I haven't been able to do anything lately due to my personal struggles medically but I would love to return volunteering at the church where I was for several years I love it there and both the staff and the people who walk in those doors are truly a blessing. I would like to volunteer doing somethin’ to help the elderly. Being a senior myself I know too often how many struggle and would love helping them. I also would love to find some type of volunteer work that would allow me to work with plants. Just so much I would like to do as well as return volunteering in the hospital what would allow me to relate with patients.
