@amiablePeace77 One of hthe things that keeps me stuck in a situation is clinging to the idea that something I grab onto will be permanent. What I want to hold onto forever eventually separates and what I want to avoid forever usually fades away over time. So letting go of clinging is my first step in letting go of pain and or unhealthy attachment.

What encouraging phrases or affirmations can you tell yourself repeatedly to help you stay in the process of letting go?

You’ve been through situations like this before many times and thrived through them all and you’ll do the exact same thing again this time. 

It’s not healthy to hold it in. Especially when nothing can be done about it. Time to let it go. 

They’re at peace now, not suffering anymore. Let them go and be happy like they deserve to be. 

You’ve tortured yourself more than enough by holding onto this. Why??? Let it go so you can go on happily living your life the way you deserve to!

Idk If this applies but based on my understanding, 

I will only care for you, if you care for me. 

Relationships should be both beneficial and symbiotic.  Otherwise, what's the point?  You'd rather be on your own, right?  This applies to family, friendships, and romantic relationships.  And we're all old enough to not be stupid anymore
