Say Hello! We want to meet all 50 year old members!
Hello I am David and I am single and 55. Life is so lonely and I am really struggling with my depression because of it. I feel so fat and old and unwanted. I still struggle with the loss of my mother 15 years ago. She was a loving female force in my life that I miss being able to lean on when I needed love and emotional support. I have never felt this alone my whole life and even connecting with others on here is a challenge. I have had so many terrible listeners. I really wish things were different and life had more love and happiness. I feel so broken and worthless....nobody wants me
@bgdave
Hey bgdave, I'm so sorry you feel this way. Losing a loved one is hard, no matter how long ago it was. Losing my grandmother feels like it just happened, even though it was 13 years ago. I hope you'll feel less lonely soon. I signed up to a penpal website recently to make some new contacts. Ofcourse its trail and error, but maybe it's something you would like try? Maybe you'll meet nice new people that way.
I know it's not a fix it all and there is nothing I can say to do that, but I do truely wish you well and I hope you'll feel better soon. Take care and sending you kind greetings.
@StarJourney
Thank you for your kindness I appreciate the time you took to care and reach out to me. I am really struggling with my depression right now. I need to find a new place to live and it really makes me feel helpless. I too wish you the best StarJourney.
Hi! I am @carefreeheart57 and I am 52 years young! I am a listener and really enjoy helping others whenever I can. I am a bit surprised by how many young people I have encountered in my short time on 7cups. It is nice to have a place to connect with people who are similar in age!
Hi everyone. Im still 49 but my birthday is rapidly approaching and Im looking in the mirror shocked that Im approaching 50. My name is Lisa. I have boy girl twins who will be 11 soon. Ive had depression and anxiety since I was nine. Im now dealing with loneliness and the feeling that finding love is not possible for me anymore. And believe it or not...Im a therapist. Yes! I said it! I can help other people navigate their world, but when I leave the office, well....you get the idea
@MomofTwins50. Hi Mom. I also feel that finding love is elusive at this age. It seemed so available for the taking 20 years ago. I find myself investing time in friendships and activities with women friends or groups. I do know people who have done on line dating in their fifties, but in my opinion it looks like a lot of work for little reward.
a college friend of mine is a therapist, and I know she goes through periods of depression also. I expect she is still a great therapist! Hope youve had a good week.
@MomofTwins50 I hear you. I just had my 50th this month. Two teenagers. It's definitely a taxing time of change for me, and I'm not handling it very gracefully. Lol.
@MomofTwins50 Hills mom, happy to meet you. I have struggled with depression and anxiety for a long time. I seem to believe it started with the birth of my siblings who are twins. I have been reading a book by Dr. Joines Webb called Running On Empty, it is about childhood emotional neglect. I have not read it entirely and keep starting over.. very emotional for me. Anyway, welcome, hope to speak again

@Sue1111
Hi, Susan!
@Sue1111 Welcome! :-)
Hi, Everyone! Just celebrated my 50th this month, although I have been feeling old for months leading up to it. Ha, ha. I'm in a messy, transitional stage of life, but finding that it's less about "fixing" all the broken bits and more about accepting myself first.
Not 50 yet, but feel like it. 2 years away...
Im 57 on July 4, but I live in NZ! Anyway, I still feel 20. So I guess age doesnt really matter cos Im still learning heaps! I hope to live past 90. Oh, Ok maybe Im a bit stiffer, but I think its just inactivity...its amazing what you can do no matter how old you are, if you try! 😀
Hello,
I just turned 51. If I've learned anything it's that as I get older the less I actually know. Coming here is hard but I'm going to keep trying.
@calmCurrent1404 just be you. You don
@calmCurrent1404
I to doubt my every thought, I suppose it is a confidence issue. I recall as a young elementary student memorizing all the european countries and thier capitols. I was quite proud.. Years later I was devistated to find that they changed! How could they? I worked so hard. Well that was the tip of the iceberg. Eggs are bad, eggs are good. Don't sit so close to the TV, now we keep a screen within inches 24/7... Really could use a wayback machine, or a memory upgrade. Anyhow, welcome to 7 cups. I have been exploring and I think succeeding, mostly with identifying my issues, repairing, not so much...
@ruffneckred everybody
@BlueSkyDay1911 vertical reality, what is that?
@ruffneckred oh, that
@BlueSkyDay1911 lol, I like it.
I'm 53 just turned it in January I've been told I look in my thirties guys hit on me you were in their thirties I still go dancing I do yoga I work out everyday and the formally trained dancer so I find it hard to have relationships with the guys in my age because I find them to be fuddy duddys but recently found out I was going through menopause so that just put a loop in things so now I deal with all the hormonal issues on top of my chronic pain issues that I already had big fun but I am blessed and I count my blessings daily my goal is to find a great relationship and to find some really great female friends to hang out with
Hi all- I turned 50 last year and excited for the new 50+ group that 7cups is starting.
