Cheri's Connection Corner - Coffee Spilled....what now??
☕️☕️Hello everyone! I am back and refreshed from vacation and so happy to return to 7cups! I need to catch up! Let's talk about coffee ☕️☕️
You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, causing you to spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? ""Because someone bumped into me!!!" Nope. You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. Whatever is inside the cup will spill out. So...when life shakes you (and it WILL), whatever is inside you will come out. The big question is "'What's in MY cup?" When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, appreciation, love, acceptance? Hostility, anger, judgement, harsh words and exhaustion? Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it. Especially right now, it's so important to make sure we fill our cups with the good stuff - forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness and love for others.

Now, this story isn’t really about coffee, of course.
Does this story resonate with you? How so? What are your current struggles for you? Are there positive things working for you currently that is helping you cope? ❤️👍
Wow. Someone bumps into my cup of coffee spilling over, it’s definitely not joy. Lots of negative emotions, in fact .. if it was coffee that was spilled, it’s money and a drink wasted.
I’ve thinking about a recent 8 day vacation I we went on with a friend. Lot of good on this much needed time off, but some bad. My friend saw my prickly side, some fights were had and there is tension after the vacation with this friend. Especially after I ‘d gotten a text asking if I reflected at all on things that went wrong on our holiday?
Does that feel like In being blamed for all the negative things on the vacation? I feel bad, but don’t know how to proceed
Holidays although the intent is to relax can be stressful! Especially with others travelling sometimes your styles don’t mesh ….
So sorry that happened on your vacation. You are not alone I did travel with a friend and her family at Disney and we did have different styles definitely …
it is important to remember before you were friends and after you will be as well.. don’t assume it is bad ever consider it maybe a path clear up the tension between you both .. be open minded and in a space to allow the mishaps on the vacay just be that in that time and place ….
I hope the convo goes well… cheering you on from here … you got this .. psst maybe talk about about the things that went right on vacay the memorable moments and the laughs …
Thank you for sharing ….😎
@sunshinelwaysgrateful
Thanks for that! 😎 I got so bogged down in the moment’s where my ‘warts’ showed on the trip rather than it was just a good vacation.
In my response to my friend’s text, I’ll gently remind her to remember all the good from the trip (which accounted for 70% of the trip).
My next vacation in two weeks is seeing family (nephew’s high school graduation) who live close to DisneyWorld. 😁
So glad yes everyone is not perfect 👍. True friends accept you warts and all. We all love our friends unconditionally. 💯 those are keepers.
Emjoy your next vacay sounds super fun. 😎
I am a Disney addict just do you know lol 😂 love Disney world snd Disney cruise was a Star Wars one super fun 🙌🙌💯💯
Sorry for spelling errors got a fly today and not being too patient see we all got warts lol 😂 hope you can read the errors lol 😂
@SunShineAlwaysGrateful
Thank you for the uplifting words, spelling errors or not. 🤣 It changed my mood from feeling low to uplifted. Stuff happens, on vacation which appears pretty common. I used my uplifting mood to respond to my friend with openness and kindness, rather than defensive. My message was received in kind, and we’re talking again.
Thanks again for your helpful posts! 😎👍
Love that 💕💕💕
I appreciate the feedback yay my flu is much better today and I can type much better lol 😂 🙌🙌🙌
Positivity for the win awesome 😎
Thanks for your latest post. A big Hey and Hurrah! for feeling better! 😎
As I’m a Seinfeld fan, one episode referred to as a “stirring anthem of wellness”. Had I been aware of your ailment, the said anthem goes like this (if you have not heard it before):
“Get well, get well soon, we want you to get well!” 😂
Humor can be good therapy. 😁
@SunShineAlwaysGrateful Hey! I love the analogy. I feel like it expresses many things that people don't even realize. People tend always to blame whatever happens on the bigger environment and the outside force, but sometimes, your perspective changes the way you feel about this "matter" will allow you to be happier and face whatever comes in your way with a much more positive attitude
First time in along time maybe ever that this story about coffee got thru to me! Thank you. This will be helpful for me to fill my cup with positive power instead of unhappiness from my depression. Thank you. You are brilliant.
You are welcome …so glad it did. I was spilling lots of negative long ago by how I felt and I needed to change, I needed to cope better . So this message spoke to me too.
You are brilliant as well. You are not alone. Sending out positive vibes across the miles to you. Always here if you need a friend. 💕💕💕💕🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛

I often feel empty or bored. Not particularly that someone is hitting my cup though. Sometimes I don't understand what I'm working for. Not really actually under that much stress but just wanted to share. One big positive thing in my life is playing on my soccer team. If I ever need a break, I like to play soccer with my friends!
