Hi there. Hobbies are fun. They teach us how to express things we cannot express at work or in relationships. They reveal a hidden part of ourselves that is really crying out to be expressed.

What is a ...

Hobby you do that makes you feel good?

Hobby that you have done ?

Hobby that you would like to do. ?

@optimisticNorth3188 knitting is so cool

My grandmother used to knit squares and make afghans out of them. Beautiful!

@soulsings its very relaxing and gives you time to clear youf head. Only problem is there are only so many sweaters, blankets, and toys you have room for😉 As an introvert don't have friends to pawn them off on 😂🤣

@optimisticNorth3188 right I hear you. Other ideas for possible donation sites: senior centers, food pantries (some have places for free things and they might take it), women's shelters, homeless shelters, and you can probably think of more.

@soulsings I used to design clothes and sew. I also provided spritual guidance, coaching, stress management. I wanted all of those to become an actual career, but it didn't pan out LOL

@soulsings I don't know. Maybe. The one chat I had with a listener, they didn't say much except, "I see", "uh huh", and "go on"...I am not sure I could keep it to just active listening phrases lol

@sincereOcean4592 I am sorry that you had a chat like that. Next time you want a listener, try browse for listeners and select more filters and check off verified listener. If none on line maybe try leaving a message. They are trained and verified to be able to do active listening.

Swimming and free diving...

@bubblyPineapple5283 I really loved swimming when growing up.

Free diving takes special training to make sure it is done safely which I do not have. I imagine it would be safer with a partner.

@soulsings

You were allways wise soul. Indeed it does, effectively everything shoukd not be done alone. However I had to do it alone as many orther things...

I remember my best memory swimming up the black river in utmost silence with a canopy of trees closing an arch above me and a big catfish brushed my leg while I was swimming in tranquility and it made me feel very happy and fulfilled...

@bubblyPineapple5283 beautiful memory

I remember swimming in the ocean floating on my back and feeling one with the ocean and the sky.

@soulsings

That is the secret and the key, being one with the water, people were amazed how I coukd swim when my left hand was paralysed....I embrace water and she embraces me and we are one and yes floating in her arms is bliss...that's why I'm not afraid commiting to her depths and cold temperatures...unlike scooba divers we do not get the bends because we do not use air in our dives, we connect with water and abandon ourselves...before a deep dive, after the deep breathing exercises and meditation you cannot talk to the diver because his gaze is unfocused, he is already in another world...I thank you so much for your ocean experiance!🤗

@bubblyPineapple5283 thank you for sharing about your free diving.

I see a connection between free diving and meditation. I become one with my breathing. I see an inner world that I sink into. I am one with that world until I resurface in the world that I left in meditation.

@soulsings

Yes you found the essence, you cannot freedive without meditation, without complete detachment from everything yet complete bonding with the water...

You are right Soul, "meditation" as you call it is essential...we use mantra like words pr expressions to totally clear our minds...

I miss my old days and it hurts alot...

This won't be a surprise. I feed the birds. Many hobbies have passed through this life. Girl stuff, and guy stuff. Baking, crocheting, sewing, to skydiving, and auto repairs. I also do lie on the ground to feel one with the Earth. May be why, even when I don't have time, I make time to stop in here and post. It does my heart good to have met others so much like me.

@soulsings I used to enjoy playing the piano and the ukulele, but lately I haven't been too motivated to play. I still go to my piano classes though. I used to scketch daily while listening to music. I enjoy running a lot, the burn feels great and I like pushing myself to my limits sometimes overboard. My schetch book is empty, but I joined the art class in school so I guess it'll fill up. I was once interested in costomizing a doll, I'm thinking on finishing up the project, but I'm not too motivated to do so. I enjoy listening to music, running and doing anything with my gang.

"Hobby" - really a lifestyle- have horses- or rather they have me- caring for them daily- riding when we all feel up to it-keeps me young at age 67!!

Also have dabbled in painting and art. My husband built me a lovely art studio- play with watercolors and other media (when I am not caring for my horses)
