I have one friend, but he lives in South Carolina and I live in Illinois.  He did live here until 2014.  We met in 2000.  We don't talk about everything - he doesn't know I was sexually abused when I was a boy, for example - so we don't know everything about each other.  We don't always agree about everything, either.  We don't like all of the same music.  We've stayed friends, though, and respect each other.  It's good to have one person out there who's okay with me the way I am.

@amiablePeace77. I have been fortunate to have one strong relationship with my partner who I met when I was close to 40 years old. I’m not sure what the pillars of a strong relationship are but I have been able to overlook some of his negative qualities due to him being an empathetic person. I also like appreciate his knowledge and advice in some areas. In his case he said that because he is”rough around the edges”a good match for him is someone “softer” like me.
