Feeling confused and lonely

At my age I thought it would be easier, you work all your life build a home family and when things are suppose to get easier seems worse. I have a big decision to make for myself and I just feel so lonely and don’t know if it’s even worth it….

Hi Tessa,

Welcome to 7 Cups.

What's this big decision you have to make? That's making you feel so frustrated over?

At 50+ we all don't have it together most times, don't beat yourself up it. You are not alone. Sending you lots of hugs 🤗🤗🤗

Hello, you know sometimes it’s just nice to know you’re not alone that you’re not the only person in the world that feels this way

@Tessa31171

It is worth it 💚

You are worth it.

It's overwhelming now, and with age, we can feel like our lives are going down a different path than we anticipated, but it passes and we adapt and find new passions and routines .

You do not have to be alone here 💚

There is no guarantee that things will work out.   There is no finish line and sometimes we have to make adjustments. it is scary to think of making change but sometimes life takes some turns.

I agree. I guess I just thought after you have a lifetime of working and establishing your life now would be the time where you can sit back and rest. i’ve been married for over 38 years. I’m not sure if I know how to live alone.

I don't blame you for being scared,  38 years is a long time to be with a person and then not.

I would be in the boat if something happened to my wife of 42 years, I'd be lost and scared.

It might help to talk about it?

I’m just really confused and unsure with my babies all grown up and they have babies of their own and it’s my husband and I I just feel I’m not sure. Maybe it’s unneeded as much. I don’t know. I’ve been trying to find something a hobby something that can keep my interest besides dwelling on what he’s doing all the time which then puts us in a state of argument and I don’t know

i feel like that i thought after college, get a job, find a stable job.  That's it. But no, it's more than that. More problems I have to face alone.  :(

I believe that I had the same reaction! I’m 80 still recall past pressures even old as Moses but I am clear that we never ask anything we cannot do ourselves when we get strong enough to pivot and retract or reclaim our own footing. Wisdom we file away pops up in crises usually right after the tears! Asking for help can break logjams spontaneously! Glad to chat I’m 80
