I was wondering what you were going to do to "be yourself" this year
@VioletVeritas
To me, what this means is to become myself more fully, so to do more of what I love to do with people I love, to allow myself time to heal, feel peaceful and tranquil, to walk more, to notice more, to do more to stretch my body, to just feel myself noticing the sensations of being alive more. What about you?
@VioletVeritas
I always recommend noticing. :) In fact, it's in my member profile. I came across the term "noticer" after reading a blog, called Hands Free Mama, by Rachel Stafford Macy. Lots of life lessons about letting go and focusing on what really matters. You may enjoy. :)

What a great article, InquireWithin!

Ooh, great question!
I have spent the past several years trying to truly "be myself."
This year, I shall continue to be my best self by: paying attention to what I really want in my life. I have always been a person who will bend over backwards to do something for someone else, at the expense of my own personal needs and boundaries. I'm going to try not to allow myself to be affected my how others want me to spend my time, and really focus on what's most important for me. And along with that, I need to then not feel guilty or selfish to listening to my own needs. 😳
This pretty much sums up my goals for this year. I no longer recognize myself in a mirror, but I’m still me on the inside. I just need to move more to ge healthier, and enjoy every moment.
To me this means sweat pants if I want! Laughing so hard my belly hurts. Inappropriately long hugs with friends. Eating abundantly from nourishing food. Taking time to meditate and look inward. Enjoying my moments with friends and family. Sleeping deeply and noting my dreams.

Nothing more comforting that cosy clothes!
@VioletVeritas
Great positive message for everyone! 👏
You know, I thought of another aspect of "being myself" is dressing comfortably. I don't have to wear clothing that pinches and tortures my body anymore. I can wear comfortable clothing, and if I'm going to someplace more formal, I can still wear clothing that does not cramp and crimp my body. I don't have to "make myself smaller" for other people. I don't have to be invisible. I can take up space with my whole self. That's all for now! 💕
@VioletVeritas Yessss. No more suffering for fashion! I used to do the same with too tiny but cute shoes
@VioletVeritas Love this question! For me, it would be to exist less in my head and more in my actual daily life.
