Hey there
@DinaElwy Hi there and welcome to 50plus.
@DinaElwy
Hello DinaElwy, how is your weekend going?
Hey. Just joined. Not actually 50 yet but seems like this is a better community for me than the 35+ one full of children ;-).
Depression sucks and I don't like it. Struggling to do things. I'm working my jobs but not being a checked-in parent because my jobs are taking all my energy. I'm not happy with myself.
Hello lovely people!!!

Thank you for the kind words.
Hi! I'm new to the 7Cups community and would also like to be in the 50+ community. Here's my intro post from another thread:
Hello, 7Cups community. I'm excited to have found you! I'm Jennifer, 52 yo F, divorced mother of three teens (a host of other qualifications/communities here: twin mom, child with bipolar, child with depression, child with dyslexia -- thankfully not all the same child! -- lesbian child, bisexual child, child in college, child in therapeutic boarding school). I am a survivor of childhood emotional abuse and a long marriage that was abusive (divorced 5 years ago). I have had depression most of my life, but have also thrived in my life in many ways. I have been involved in AlAnon, CoDA and a woman's support group. I have been in different types of therapy, most recently DBT and trauma therapy for CPTSD. I also have had good and bad experiences with anti-depressant medications over the years. I am bisexual, at times polyamorous, and an adventurous (and safe!) sex-positive person (I love Dan Savage's Savage Lovecast!). With all this life experience, I am hopeful I can bring support, information and compassion to the people who seek out this community.

@BeyondTheInvisible
Just joined. Glad that I found this. I have been struggling with anxiety that I realized that I have been trying to deny.
As a black man, I have been raised to believe "we" don't need mental help. Basically, I was told to just suck it up or get over it.
It was never taught to me about how to be a father and husband.
I need help before I lose my family.
@GrowingMental31906
Hello to you!
It's so thoughtful of you! Not everyone would reflect about it questioning oneself if something can impact negatively the relationship with the partner or the family, you can be proud of yourself! ![]()
I hope that the platform can be a positive experience for you, feel free to ask for help or to converse in a 1-1 too, you can text me as well if you feel to!
In the meanwhile I share with you a couple of useful links from 7 cups of tea : click HERE and HERE
Take care!
@BeyondTheInvisible
Thank you for your response and links. I will definitely utilize them.
