Are new year's resolutions worth making?
Some people say that making resolutions can help people to feel more accountable for their actions while others say that it can feel forced and superficial.
What do you think?
Are you setting goals for the New Year, which ones?
@amiablePeace77 I stopped making them after my stroke in 2020 but this year im doing me and my boys a favor and moving on jist need to get my business active again then im going all in!
I set a resolution that helps me better myself, not always change something I don't like. Examples, go to one new museum a month. try a new type of food a month. visit a new city/place each month. try a new sport a month. It's felt very life opening for me :)

To me it can be either way. If people make resolutions that can actually be benefited from after they are done, yes it’s worth it to make them. However if people either make unrealistic or unreasonable resolutions or don’t follow any resolutions they make, even if they made real ones, then they’re just wasting time they won’t get back.
@akunknown
I am with you on this, making resolutions can be beneficial but often people set unrealistic or unreasonable resolutions and that leads to failure.
@amiablePeace77
Then for those people it’s not worth it. But the fact is making resolutions they often fail at isn’t true for everyone on Earth and for the ones that aren’t failures, no matter how few people that is, it’s definitely worth it :)
Definitely!
I know for a fact that if I don't set goals, I won't be able to know when I've achieved what I wanted. Where's the gratification in that?
@WeListenWeDontJudge
I hear you! Goals can act like a "pull"!
Exactly. It's like, when I know there's a finish line, I can struggle and put in all the effort there is to get there. When there isn't, I can just quit anywhere I'd like and it won't make a difference to me.

After many decades on this Earth - resolutions are what you make of it - whether at the beginning of a year, many years along, or at your end. New Year resolutions are overrated.. yes, maybe a good place to start 'thinking' of change (if you hadn't already).
