Exercise, oh lawds why? Share with us what exercise you did today or recently!
I generally go for quite a long walk at night with my dog for my exercise. I have bad knees, so power lifting like I used to do when I was younger is out of the picture. I think I'm going to get some handweights and make myself a morning routine.
Anyway, this isn't about me, this is about you fine folks.
We all know the more awesome (older) we get, the more we need to keep an eye on things like exercise. Whenever you get some exercise, come share with us. Let's cheer each other on to either getting into better shape or staying in good shape. Together we can keep each other focused and in good humor about doing something that at times seems counter-intuitive to many of us.
Trikked on the weekend, and every day to work.
Climbed over a guardrail and scrambled down to the bottom of a big ditch with both hands occupied by a rattlesnake, and then then climbed back up the steep side of the ditch and back over the guardrail... multiple times. skidded down a near vertical drop off to release a rubber boa, climbed back up the steep drop off, turned around and went back down the steep dropoff because a passing driver wanted to know what I was doing, got the boa and climbed up again to show the driver, then back down the drop off to release the boa (again) and then back up again. Who needs to pay gym memberships? Just rescue snakes.
Oof. Where I work they have an Employee Wellness program, pay $30 and take an exercise class. I picked Tuesdays and Thursdays to get a mild exercise, just enough to get me back into some kind of shape. The coach, so far, has been working me to death. Last Thursday I was so exhausted my head was spinning and I couldn't catch my breath. I talked with him Tuesday to explain, and he took it a bit easier, I am still sore today. If it weren't for my motivation, I wouldn't even bother.
@Offmytrack sorry to hear you are sore. I find ramping up exercise slowly works best for me
Thanks @soulsings. I am hoping to ramp things a bit more slowly than the coach had originally wanted. He seems to be reasonable.
@Offmytrack good idea!
