Exercise, oh lawds why? Share with us what exercise you did today or recently!

I generally go for quite a long walk at night with my dog for my exercise. I have bad knees, so power lifting like I used to do when I was younger is out of the picture. I think I'm going to get some handweights and make myself a morning routine.

Anyway, this isn't about me, this is about you fine folks.

We all know the more awesome (older) we get, the more we need to keep an eye on things like exercise. Whenever you get some exercise, come share with us. Let's cheer each other on to either getting into better shape or staying in good shape. Together we can keep each other focused and in good humor about doing something that at times seems counter-intuitive to many of us.

I've recently begun walking to work. The weather isn't ideal for me but it gets me moving at the beginning and end of my day (I move around during the day but this is an actual extended period of movement).

@ReadBooksDrinkTea

I like walking at the end of the day with my dog for an hour or more. Walking is really relaxing and easy on the body.

Exercise bike - I have a bike and a treadmill in the basement. It is getting the energy to go downstairs that I find challenging! frown

Nope! No clothes on mine... the clothes are hung over the chairs instead!

@DaveMcGrath I did yoga to help me stretch before I got out of bed and I am about to go to Tai Chi class.

@soulsings

How did your tai chi class go? As I mentioned my aunt loves Tai Chi, she does retreats and workshops and the like. I've always wanted to learn but I've never had the vinegar to go stand out in the park as a 6 foot plus foreigner with a group of Chinese people at 5 in the morning. Couldn't stand the stares, I get enough of them just walking to work as it is.

Here is a link to Qi Gong the stationery Tai Chi exercises if you care to see about that. https://youtu.be/aAwbJ9MO91I

Haha lol exercise? What's that?😂 Well I typically have to walk everywhere I.go. I can't sit still anyway. Bad part is that no matter how much exercise I get and how much I modify my eating habits, I am still overweight and can't lose more than 5lbs

@soulsings you're right. It is. When I was on my first job I used to work in an 8th floor and I escalated twice a day, first at arrival and second after going to lunch.

Singe gym opens at 5:30 am I can't use it since I go back home at 6:00 to shower breakfast and pick up everything for work.

Instead I go 20 or 25 minutes both rounds of stairs, rest for 15 minutes shower and breakfast with enough time to get everything spaced and go commuting at 6:00 am

Took a fairly long walk with my dog tonight, thinking much more about creating a handweight routine to get back to doing weightlifting, tho with a more reasonable approach for my age and limitations due to previous injuries.

@DaveMcGrath oh no sorry to hear that allergies are acting up. I got a PM from you but it keeps trying to load. Sorry not to respond but I do not know what your question is.

@soulsings

Sounds like the local ISP turned down the internet tap again. :P

Luckily my allergies are very very seasonal and specific. As in taking care a former coworker's dog with my own dog has so much dog hair in my house that it finally got to me. Last year I was fine, just me and my dog and I got him a buzz cut to keep the shedding down to a minimum. Didn't this year, price is being exacted in full.

:P

Running around on my Trikke. That's Trikke, not trike. Different sort of beast altogether. Also climbing over guardrails, into ditches and scrambling up steep roadcuts, all while carrying rattlesnakes in my hands. Nothing like being only 5'1" and having to climb over a guardrail whole both hands are occupied with a venomous reptile and there's a car coming. Highly recommended to get the ol' heart rate up. :-)

another long blissfully silent late night walk with the dog last night. Went out around 10:30ish, got back around 12ish.

Good times. Dog loved it, had the park all to himself. Much havoc, dog happy.

Nobody in their right mind goes out walking at that time of the night where I live. They are sensibly at home snug in their beds. Means i get the whole park for myself and the dog.

Word of advice, she might be pretty, she might be half your age, she might just want to practice her English over a nice cup of tea, but that cup of tea is going to cost you about 150 bucks.
