Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church - Berlin
I was 18 or 19 when I first saw this church. The ruins next to a modern church is a haunting statement regarding the horrors of war. It was very moving - even at that age, I bought a watercolor painting to bring home with me. It is very small (I was a poor college student), but I wanted something to remember the intense feelings of the moment I saw it.
@carefreeHeart57 Thank you for sharing this experience with us! I can understand that at times, even the smallest reminders have great value, it is great that you have that too.
I would pick The Taj Mahal in Agra, India. It's actually a mausoleum built by Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is really a romantic gesture . But it's also sad that the fact that Mumtaz Mahal died during child birth of her fourteenth child which we all know now , in the modern age , will take a toll on a woman's health. The Taj Mahal stands majestically and elegantly.

@faithlove1111 I love the Taj Mahal. I have never been there but I love this improv that Paul Horn (flutist) did with a man that maintains the Taj Mahal. You can hear it here. https://youtu.be/6htffFlnTI0 To me it is almost like being there. I love this music.
