Live AMA/ New Forum Mentor Meet 'N Greet!
Whaaa I'm so excited! First off, I'd like to apologise for the late notice, but you're all formally invited to a live AMA/Meet 'N Greet for our new forum mentors. We've had some lovely new forum mentors inducted in the past couple weeks, and in the spirit of forum love, @poeticguy and I would like to help 7cups give them a warm welcome! Here's everything you need to know:
Who will be "interviewed": Specifically, the new forum mentors (if I missed you please let me know so I can add you) - @mscoxie @TranquilSong72 @WonderfulPumpkin71 @Anggi @Dillion @AdVictoriam @bookworm4 @cristiana33 @Erinik @anchoredwithhope - and also any current forum mentor you decide to ask questions to!
When and Where: The Listener Community Room, Tuesday December 22nd, 9 PM EST as well as this thread!
How will these "interviews" be conducted: Questions can be posted in this thread or in the Listener Community Room during the event. All questions will be answered in this thread.
Why a live AMA in the forums: Demonstrate the value of the longevity of the forums; Increase engagement by allowing listeners who aren't comfortable with the forums yes to participate via the chatroom; Time Zones can be a hassle but with the combined force of notifications, tagging, and the longevity of forum posts, your questions can still be answered even if the person in particular you are "interviewing" isn't even present at the time, how cool is that??
Rules: Questions must follow chatroom, forum, and community guidelines found here. I have volunteered these individuals without their prior consent, so please be respectful and don't feel hurt if they choose not to participate.

@vivelespatates :and also, its a lot more easy for listeners to find forum mentors; but i think it should be easier for members to find someone who can delete their messages, like we dont have the possibility to do it ourselves

lol jk I'm not really sure. I still do the same things but I have moved my schedule around to better suit my current activities. In other words, I haven't stopped doing what I used to do, just changed when I do it :)
Since my spirit animal is a dog and @MonBon a cat and we dont fight like cats and dogs (thats what we say in public ) -Mon thinks we are like Milo and Otis @Roadie asks who is who it is for the reader to decide (p.s I am the pretty one :P)

@JaceofSpades - I think mine was within a day or two of becoming a listener. I have always been passionate about supporting others with eating disorders, and when I found the forums and saw people reaching out there, I couldn't stop myself. I briefly worried I was stepping on someone's toes by just going in and starting to respond to every post that anyone made there, but it turns out that's what got me into forum mentoring! :)
I would love to see more listeners do something similar. If there's a topic you're passionate about and you see members reaching out, take the initiative and start responding!

What makes a good post?
@poeticguy - hmm...I think a lot of things can make a good post. There are posts that are seeking support that are beautiful and heartfelt and so open and honest. There are posts offering support or even just acknowledging the pain others are feeling or telling them they are not alone. There are posts opening discussions to gain understanding. There are posts offering feedback on how we can continue to learn and grow as a community. There are posts just to have some fun and find some common ground. All of those, to me, are great posts so long as they are seeking to make connections and be here together.
If you had to pick only using the forums or only using the chatrooms for the rest of your time on 7 cups, what would you choose and why?

@MonBon - It would be really hard for me to give up LSR, but since I tend to get overwhelmed in member chatrooms because they move faster than I can keep up and I worry too much that I'm missing people who need support, I would have to take the forums so that I could continue to work with my lovely members. :)
Plus, they cover way more topic areas!

I've moved away from the chatrooms so it would have to be forums. Really, it's variety as much as anything. The chatrooms can be pretty similar from day to day so I can flick through and read different things every day here.
Also.. doing it at my leisure helps.

For the sake of reaching as many people as possible for as long as possible, I would have to go with the forums. I love my chatrooms very much though and don't plan on leaving any time soon :)
