Live AMA/ New Forum Mentor Meet 'N Greet!
Whaaa I'm so excited! First off, I'd like to apologise for the late notice, but you're all formally invited to a live AMA/Meet 'N Greet for our new forum mentors. We've had some lovely new forum mentors inducted in the past couple weeks, and in the spirit of forum love, @poeticguy and I would like to help 7cups give them a warm welcome! Here's everything you need to know:
Who will be "interviewed": Specifically, the new forum mentors (if I missed you please let me know so I can add you) - @mscoxie @TranquilSong72 @WonderfulPumpkin71 @Anggi @Dillion @AdVictoriam @bookworm4 @cristiana33 @Erinik @anchoredwithhope - and also any current forum mentor you decide to ask questions to!
When and Where: The Listener Community Room, Tuesday December 22nd, 9 PM EST as well as this thread!
How will these "interviews" be conducted: Questions can be posted in this thread or in the Listener Community Room during the event. All questions will be answered in this thread.
Why a live AMA in the forums: Demonstrate the value of the longevity of the forums; Increase engagement by allowing listeners who aren't comfortable with the forums yes to participate via the chatroom; Time Zones can be a hassle but with the combined force of notifications, tagging, and the longevity of forum posts, your questions can still be answered even if the person in particular you are "interviewing" isn't even present at the time, how cool is that??
Rules: Questions must follow chatroom, forum, and community guidelines found here. I have volunteered these individuals without their prior consent, so please be respectful and don't feel hurt if they choose not to participate.

Upvoting can be important depending if the person cares about them or not. It shows them that people agree with what they said or that someone is actually viewing their post.- @JaceofSpades
i love this feature, which encourage us to post more helpful posts, but it makes me sad when i get more upvotes for negative than positive. because i put a lot more efforts for create positive ones-@vivelespatates

it can show support or unity but it also has a few negatives it can turn into a popularity contest or feel disappointing to those who dont feel they get "enough" upvotes-@Elle22

I've been a chatroom mentor and I've been a forum mentor in my time so I don't have a lot to compare it against but it's one of the more versatile tracks which leads to a lot of diversity in the forum mentor team.
It's cool, you know? You can pop on for ten minutes and do a lot.. I'm not sure whether you can get that with other tracks so for someone like me, it's been a natural fit. It's great!
@MonBon I'd say I rather enjoy the experience of being FM. It's a cool, laid back type of atmosphere...very encouraging and supportive too!!

I think it's human nature to focus on negative things as a sort of survival mechanism.

@anchoredwithhope - I'll answer those two questions separately.
1) What have I done in the forums that I am proud of? I am most proud of building our community in the Eating Disorders Forum and ensuring that (for the past several months at least), no post goes without a response and anyone seeking support receives it. I have big forum dreams that one day that will be how every forum works!
2) What have I seen in the forums that I am proud of? Nothing makes me more proud than seeing listeners or members who I have interacted with or offered support to starting to spread love around the forums, as well. I think it's really powerful to receive support not just from a few people on the forum team, but from all kinds of listeners and members and to feel that love flowing in from everywhere!

wow...this is a tough one. So many things really. The level of support that I find all over the forums! The encouragement of others and their achievements! The willingness of others to help out when they see someone in need! The hard work, put in by the team, and it definitely shows!! What's not to be proud of!?
