Leadership isn't a badge you wear or a title you're given. It's a choice you make every day. It's the choice to listen, to support the person next to you, and to inspire hope. You don't need permission or a formal role to make a positive impact. True leadership is an action, not a position.

I think that those who lead start doing so
way before they ever become leaders of anything.
Because it's like you said, it's not a position,
it's an active choice for each and every one.

You can see it when people make sure to foster a
supportive environment in the chatrooms and forums,
even though they don't carry any badges or are even a listener.
There are many here that I can think of that do just that,
and I must say that I admire every single one of them!

I agree. I think some qualities like honestly, deep true compassion and care somehow makes them leaders, whether they hold any badges or not.
They may not be in the spotlight all the time, but they somehow can be like the directors behinds the scene.
I've recognized some of them, and i truly admire them. ❤️

Directors behind the scenes is such a good way to describe it! These are the quieter leaders who do such critical work, and without them, the show would not go on! Every single personality/leader type has a role suited for them in the grand production that is 7 Cups 🥰

"Title-free leadership" looks to me like a group of people gathered to achieve a common goal. Organizing based on their strengths, or based on consent; the group organizes itself to achieve the goal.
In a relationship where consensus rules, the team dynamic leads.

@Heather225 This is very smart, and I do agree. It's common to want to be a leader. Being a leader provides so much more freedom and control to have over situations and people, as opposed to being led. It can be very beneficial for situations when the leader is visionary, moral, and ethical, doing the right thing. However, there is a darker side to leadership. Power can be abused and also used to make one feel better than others. With the extra privileges that being a leader offers, it brings much more responsibility. This reminds me of the quote, "With great power comes great responsibility."
Since I agree with what is mentioned in the post, I will respond to the second part. I think that to foster an environment that empowers others to step forward, first there should be a sense of respect and equality. Equality meaning that nobody is much above or below anyone else. As for respect, if everyone feels respected, maybe they would hesitate less to voice their opinions. In addition, listeners should do what they volunteer to do- listen! Listen and pay attention to what others are saying to make sure they understand as best as they can.
