A Talk On Self Care With StarleyWarm!
Talker: @StarleyWarm
What is your idea of spending a balanced time on 7cups? Share your idea of how a good day looks like on 7cups, for you.
I think spending a balanced time means the time one can allude for others after one’s own self-care. For example I usually spend 30 minutes to 1 hour helping the members for a day. My ideal day is a day where I just can spend time on 7 cups academy learning new things and expanding myself and trying to help a member feel better rather than tackling with many members.
What challenges did you face in trying to strike that balance?
Usually the challenge I face is that I find it hard sometimes to find a time for 7 cups or just ending a chat that would go on for hours.
How did you try to deal with those challenges?
For me, bullet journaling helped a lot to maintain my time on 7 cups. Plus I learned new ways to set boundaries with a member and how to end a chat with a member with the help of noni (the most amazing bot in the galaxy🌟)
What are the benefits of improving your balance for the time you spend on cups?
By maintaining a balanced time on 7 cups, listeners can focus more on their selves which is sometimes not the easiest thing to do as listeners. Also when listeners are having a healthy mindset and a good mood, they are most likely to treat the members in a good manner and support them by listening💫
What message would you like to give to the cupsers who have come to be negatively attached to cups, in one of the many ways?
Well I would say, it’s okay. It’s just okay to be negatively attached to 7 cups. But, I just want to remind you that you deserve to feel loved by yourself, and to feel good. So embrace all the opportunities that you can spend for your amazing beautiful self! 💛💛💛

If I'm chatting with someone and I know I have something I have to do off the computer, I'm honest. I just tell them that I've enjoyed our chat but I have to go. And, say that I'm looking forward to our next chat. It's all about setting boundaries and firm self-care actions. Sometimes it's a good idea at the beginning of a chat to say something like... "I've got a half an hour before I have to go do X or what ever you want to say. Then when that time is almost up, say 5 minutes or so. Tell them that your time is almost up. They will recall you had set a limit and will more readily accept that you have to go.
I don't have a set schedule of when I'm on 7 Cups. I just come in a few minutes throughout the day to check for messages and reply to a few posts. If I have a busy day off the computer, I don't sweat it unless I've got a chat scheduled. I work hard to make all scheduled chats but sometimes life gets in the way. It is what it is.
Everyone has to figure out what their personal balance is between 7Cups and life off the computer. If it's starting to take over your life... like someone mentioned... you're taking away important time for you to be YOU. Some may say, "Well, I'm me when I'm on 7 Cups. I post what I genuinely feel..." etc. etc." The YOU on the other side of the screen is not the same as the YOU in real person. There's so much more to life to experience... a walk among trees, watching and listening to birds sing... a brisk swim that invigorates your physical body, conversations with close friends and family - face to face, the feel of the sun warming your skin (besides soaking in some good Vit D ). You fill in your blank here of what you enjoy doing off your computer. If you feel like you're just so down and can't do anything... Then use your memory skills, what made you feel good/happy in the past? Go do some of that for a while.
7 Cups is a wonderful community. It's mission and it's people have the best of intentions for all that come here. But it's up to each of us individually to figure out how we integrate this into our lives.
