World Pianist day - share your favourite piano piece!
Music lovers unite! Today (Nov 8) is World Pianist Day, a time to celebrate all the beautiful pieces created by pianists and the emotions the music can create. 🎹
Not a fan of classical pieces? Don't worry - there are at least five major types of piano music, such as: classical piano, jazz piano, Pop Rock Piano, R&B Piano, and Blues Piano. 🎶
As a piano and classical lover myself, here are some of my current listens:
La fugitive by Lindolfo Gargiulo, Beethoven’s Silence by Ernesto Cortázar, L' arrivée sur l'ile by Manon Clément.

🎼 Can you play the piano, or any other instrument?
Yes, I can play the piano 🎹
🎼 What's your favourite piece(s) of piano to listen to?
I enjoy playing piano covers of popular songs, ones most people know, well I hope they know 😉
🎼 How does playing or listening to piano make you feel?
Playing my piano helps me relax and express my emotions. Sometimes me and my cat even play together, although I don't think its very relaxing for others when we do XD

@LlamaLizz Lizz that is brilliant, and I love the cat pic too

Thank YOU for the kind reply 😊
I do play piano and I used to practice regularly but recently I've not done so as much as I should 😮 it's a very relaxing and grounding activity when I do though
My cat also enjoys playing with my piano lol, he loves pressing down the keys 😸 maybe I should get him his own tiny one 🤔

p.s. Your pfp is really cute
@SleepyShyCat
Ooh, I didn't know this about today!! Exciting!! Is it the same day every year? Needs to go in my calendar 👀
I play a little piano, self taught, then had a few months of lessons, now just play for fun. I also play the flute, which sounds a bit less like Les Dawson 🤣 and the piccolo for band.
I love classical music, and really want to try and break the stigma, sadly a lot in young people, that classical music is boring. There are some really interesting pieces to both play and listen to.
My favourite piece, a flute piece with piano accompaniment has to be Hypnosis by Ian Clarke, and favourite piano piece, variations on a theme of Paganini.
Music is my escape, helps to calm, release emotions. To me, there's pieces I turn to to cope with different emotions.
@SparklingSeashells rofl @Les Dawson, I remember seeing that piece!

I believe it is the same day every year.
I wish too the idea of classical music wouldn't be seen as 'boring' by others - however I do think that is becoming less and less which is good. And it has already been loved by countless people across centuries 😮
It has been a really important genre of music to me. I agree with you - music is an escape. There is so much good that comes from music, it keeps me feeling connected, calm and grounded. 🎶😸

I do play piano, or keyboard. I find it relaxing to play, especially when I’m just being mindful about it.
I really enjoy Fredrick Chopin’s work and Cesar Franck has a wonderful piece for violin and piano which I love.
@SleepyShyCat

Hi! ♥️🍂🍁
🎼 Yes, I play the piano/keyboard.
🎼 There are too many for me to list, but for now I’ll mention “And She Was Beautiful.” by Cerah. It’s very calming to listen to.
🎼 To be honest, playing/listening to piano music gives me mixed feelings. I used to play piano back when I lived with my abusive parents; it was one of few outlets for me. When I escaped, obviously I couldn’t bring my piano with me haha. My new family got me a keyboard, which to be clear, I appreciate very much. It’s just odd that one part of me misses and enjoys playing piano, and the other part of me finds it painful because of memories.
Piano Is like rain falling on my soul, it can soothe or sizzle or gently anoint. I love the works of Chopin, Debussy, and Rachmaninov. But my favorite has to be Erik Satie, the gnossienes and once upon a time in Paris. Great question!
