Orlando Nightclub Tragedy - Discussion & Support
Early this morning a mass shooting occured at a gay night club in Orlando, Florida. Recent reports site that 50 people were killed and many more injured.
If you need more information - here are some of the news articles I have come across:
I am deeply saddened by this news report and wanted to create a space for us to talk about this tragedy and support one another. Please share how you are feeling here and lets have a supportive discussion that lifts our hearts up and honors those who have been impacted.
Oh no :'( what's happening to Orlando? :( Christina Grimmie was shot there too :( this is a sad news :( will surely include them in prayers. I hope this will not happen again, anywhere :(
@KRN #RIPChristina I loved her so much. She was my motivation, my inspiration. But glad to know that she's in a better place now :'(
Personally, I am feel very sad about this. It breaks my heart that so many people have lost their lives while out having a good time.
@Laura that is very true :( I mean, all they want is to have fun but then a tragic moment like this will occur. Ohh my, this is very heavy. My devotion for this week is for them :( <3
@Laura
LAura yes, this is a very sad tragic thing to wake up to. Innocent people coming together and enjoying themselves. It really saddens me that people cant be whom they want to be without being hated on.
My prayers to those families and friends.
@Laura I'm lost of words. I have been highly saddened by this recent incident. My deepest condolences.
Tragic and unnecessary. I'm truly at a loss for words. Just enjoy your life and make every moment count. Tell everyone you love how much they mean to you. You never know when it will be your time.
@Laura I've not been one for nightlife since I graduated college. Crowded clubs and concerts are not my idea of fun anymore, and now they are even less so with this event and the ones in Paris late last year. It's sad that people have any reason to fear living their lives as they normally would. I was deeply saddened to read the articles this morning - but it reminds me of my purpose here at 7 Cups and generally in life. I'm going to sound like a terrible optimist and dreamer, but... It's my hope that spreading as much love and understanding as possible can lessen the chances of more attacks and shootings like these happening in the future. It's my opinion that to have the ability to be the shooter in the first place, one has got to be in a pretty lost and sad place themselves...
@CompassionateGirl90
Although, yes this is tragic, so very sad it is....I love your hope in this. That to spread kindness and empathy. To be that helping hand to many as your life allows it to.
I don't like hate.......but Love and kindness
This has gotten my day pretty unfocused.........
Live right near the club, a family friend managed it for a long time actually. I'm deeply saddened by this event, and discusted at why he targeted this club in particular.
Going to donate blood, wishing only the best for the people who are injured. Sending my love to the families affected.
What has happened to humanity?

I'm not old enough to donate blood but being only 4 hours away in Miami is a surreal experience. This was a hate crime and it saddens me that such a thing is still a thing. It is important to ackowledge that it was a hate crime because erasure at a time like this is unacceptable. This has been one of the dealiest massacres since 1984. It's sad that it takes something like this for the ban on LGBTQ+ people to donate blood in Orlando to be lifted temporarily.
