Dinner With Angelx28
Hello all! I am excited to announce that I will be expanded my series called 'Dinner With Our Alumni' where I will do a small interview with our leaders who graduated the Building Community Program. The aim is to spread more awareness about the program and hopefully everyone gives it a read!
Our very first BCP graduate for this dinner is: @Angelx28
Angel is a very special member here since March 2021! Angel or Angelica, is a high school going girl who loves night drives (big fan - maybe we should have a night drives club x)), sports, going out, and exploring new places! My interview with them was filled with warmth and compassion - they had such wonderful insights! They are a room supporters for both the Positivity and Gratitude subcommunity as well as Depression support community - and they do a wonderful job with it ![]()
What was on the menu? Pizza, duh!
Here's what they had to say:
What made you start BCP?
The motivation behind why I picked the Building Community Program is that it stood out for me. Learning more about something like community building is one of my interests. I find building and growing a community to be really amazing and intriguing. Something I would totally very much want to get familiar with. At the point when I came across the Building Community Program, I considered participating on the grounds that I realized this was something that would assist with profiting my insight, figure out how community-building functions, and develop a better understanding. Additionally, when I recently joined Cups, I discovered it to be a particularly kind and supportive place. I needed to get familiar with it and partake in the community. I realized BCP would assist me with learning about 7 Cups too.
Which chapter is your favorite?
All the chapters are knowledgeable, helpful, and fascinating. Be that as it may, my favorite would be Chapter 2: Do Something together. I love how the chapter made it clear that you can't do everything alone. It highlighted the importance of the community. It was great learning about different activities that can help the community grow and foster a better relationship between members.
How did you find navigating the forums?
I found it to be fun, interesting, and knowledgeable. I loved exploring the forums, reading such amazing posts, responding, and participating. It was great to see how everyone put hard work and effort into each post. Definitely, something that deserves appreciation.
What's the one thing you learned that you will always remember?
I discovered that one cannot do everything alone. At the point when a community or team is able to function well together, they can assist with achieving much beyond what one can achieve alone. Collaboration within the community can assist with tackling issues, coming up with creative ideas, improving, and growing together.
Which is your favorite subcommunity?
I find every sub-community to be helpful and unique in its own way. I appreciate all the effort and hard work put into each sub-community. But, if I had to pick one, I would pick the Positivity & Gratitude Community.
What advice would you give to a new BCP trainee?
I would say do your best. Go through the requirement list thoroughly to understand each and everything. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
How can mentors offer better support for the program?
Apart from check-ins in the PMs, I think hosting sessions, meetings, and check-ins in the Academy Hub might be a good way to offer better support for the program.
If you could change one thing about the program, what would it be?
Can't really think of anything.
Thank you for reading till here! I would love to hear any suggestions/question ideas that I can add to this series. If you are an BCP graduate and would love to contribute, please PM me so we can set up our dinner! Meanwhile, please give a big shout-out to @Angelx28 for doing this!
