Number seven
So I read 7 cups of tea has been name comes from a Chinese poem. And its a lovely poem.
For me it's just delightful to see the number 7 in there.
Number 7 is considered to be the number representing divine order in my faith.
There are seven verses in Surah Fatiha - first chapter of the Quran. There are believed to be seven heavens. On pilgrimage, pilgrims complete 7 rounds of the holy Kaaba.
Seeing how much goodness there is on this app, I deeply believe divine hand is behind the creation and flourishing of this platform.
Just sharing this info with others and thanks to @GlenM for making this possible. You are god sent💛✨️
@Creamyyy
I didn't realise how significant the number seven was in your faith, thanks for learning! I like to think there's a Divine guiding force behind the kindness and the love 💜💕
Thank you @creamyyy for your kind words and for underlining the importance of the # 7! I asked an AI and this is what it said:
The number 7 holds significant meaning in many cultures, religions, and fields of study, often symbolizing completeness, perfection, or good fortune. It's a prime number, meaning it's only divisible by 1 and itself, which contributes to its unique status. This uniqueness is often associated with mystical and spiritual properties.
Cultural and Religious Significance
In Religion and Mythology: The number 7 appears frequently in religious texts. For example, in the Bible, God rested on the seventh day after creation, symbolizing completion. There are also seven deadly sins, seven virtues, and seven sacraments in Christianity.
In Folklore and Superstition: In many Western cultures, the number 7 is considered lucky. Finding a four-leaf clover with seven leaflets is considered exceptionally lucky (though a four-leaf clover is more common). The phrase "seven-year itch" refers to a common point in a long-term relationship where one might experience a desire for change.
Science and Nature
In Nature: There are seven colors in the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), as described by Isaac Newton's prism experiments. The human body has seven cervical vertebrae, and there are seven continents on Earth.
In Astronomy: The Pleiades star cluster is famously known as the "Seven Sisters," and there are seven planets visible to the naked eye (excluding Earth). The week is divided into seven days, which is based on the ancient observation of the seven celestial bodies (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn).
Mathematics and Logic
In Mathematics: Seven is a prime number, a Mersenne prime, and a lucky number in number theory. It's often seen as a number with unique properties that set it apart from others.
In Logic: In a series of observations about human memory, psychologist George A. Miller proposed that the average person's short-term memory can hold around 7 items, plus or minus two. This concept is famously known as "The Magical Number Seven, Plus or Minus Two."
