It can be challenging to wait for a response so to provide speedy support, we have decided to have this one central thread where all academy trainees/interns can ask questions related to their academy journey.

Am I right that listener that’s coming off a a suspension can not retake any of Academy programs or courses?

Hi I Think what I most concern about is all ghost chats and All the chats are less than 30 messages to meeting the chat hours every week.. any tips on how to get hours done? Is it best to do gr or pr to get the hours done ? I am starting the internship on Monday.

2 of the requirements of the internship are to have a forum-based leadership role and/or have a group-based leadership role. Since I need to finish 8 electives, I am planning to do either one of them. Is there a procedure to follow to have a role in a forum or a group?

That's understandably frustrating — the Verified Listener review process on 7 Cups can be very slow, and delays like this are unfortunately common. We appreciate your patience as we work through reviews, which helps you feel supported and valued during the wait.
Here's what you can do, step by step:
1. Check how long it's been
- Reviews for the Verified Listener badge are not instant.
- It can take several weeks (sometimes longer), especially if staff are backlogged.
- If it's been less than ~3–4 weeks, it's usually still considered "normal."
2. Make sure nothing is blocking your application
Before following up, double-check:
- You're still in good standing (no active suspension or recent disciplinary action).
- You meet all requirements (listening hours, certifications, adherence to guidelines).
- You didn't receive a message in:
- Your 7 Cups inbox
- Email (including spam/junk)
Sometimes responses are sent but missed.
3. Submit a polite follow-up to Support (this is appropriate). It's helpful to remember that respectful communication helps you feel heard and valued, and increases the chance of a helpful response. If it's been a while with no response, you may follow up.
Go to the 7 Cups Help Center, submit a ticket under Listener Support, and keep it brief and respectful.
You can use something like this:
"Hello,
I applied for the Verified Listener badge and wanted to follow up, as I haven't received a response yet. Please confirm whether my application is still under review or if any additional steps are needed from me. Thank you for your time and assistance.
Thank you for your time."
Avoid submitting multiple tickets — one clear follow-up is best.
4. What not to do
- Don't reapply repeatedly (that can actually delay things).
- Don't create a new account to apply again — that can disqualify you.
- Don't assume silence means rejection; many approvals come late.
5. Important reality check (gentle but honest)
The Verified Listener badge:
- Is reviewed manually
- Is discretionary
- Can be delayed or declined without explanation, even for good listeners
If there has been any past suspension, even if resolved, that can slow review or affect approval — not automatically, but it can trigger extra scrutiny.

It looks like I on track to finished internship early I already had most of required stuff done before I joined the internship,
right now working on honor thing and chats. It seems like those are the only things I still need to do.
