@Laura
I spend most of my time online. If i'm at home, my computer is on, and I just jump from one social media site to another, to emails, to other sites. I look at porn too much. I've spent a lot of evenings on my computer, and a lot of weekends alone in my room while all my friends are going out. I feel like, other than my roommates, I rarely have physical face-to-face connection with any of my friends, and its embarassing when I do hang out with friends because they'll ask "what have you been up to" and the truth is, nothing. I don't do anyting because I spend my free time on my laptop, aimlessly browsing sites. I try to maintain a personality on facebook so it looks like I'm doing ok, but in reality, I feel like a fucking loser
Interesting there is a topic for internet addiction now -- not in a bad though!
Recently I was able to admit to myself that I am addicted to the internet, and have been staying out of the house as much as I can to stop wasting so much endlessly scrolling through my Facebook feed. I'll find myself actively wanting to shut off my tablet, but it's so difficult for me to actually do. It usually has get to the point where I feel physically sick from having looking at the screen for so long before I'll shut it for a little bit.
I've just admitted to myself in the past week that I'm addicted not only to social media, but to creating fake profiles and meeting people through these profiles. As with many things, it all started innocently enough, but I've developed real feelings for the people I meet.
I owned up to a couple of them, to mixed reactions.
I now find myself heartbroken, crying all night and totally confused as to the real me.
Hi, everybody, I'm addicted to 7cups. I first joined to relieve me of my loneliness then I started reading other people's posts and tried to help them if I can. Helping others feels good. I get tired of it, but I still get a strange craving to be here even if I don't help others or post anything. It's hindering me from getting enough sleep.
My listener is helping me by keeping me accountable. It's my decision to want to be open about this in public. Any advice is welcome here as well :-)
