Feeling a need to gamble again?
It was last year in the space of a few months where I trialed with gambling and ended up getting myself into trouble.
It was February actually, I placed a 1 bet on a football game and my team won 2-0 and I won something like 2/ 3 back and I put that on another match that later lost. Although I tried with online roulette where I ended up losing 10. It was really bugging me that I lost this 10 and I kept depositing more and more to try and win it back, before I got myself into 150 worth of debt..
I gave it up for a while but I really missed this 150. I'm a student and I'd been given that money as a gift for birthdays and Christmas' that I'd been saving up from. Yet I still kept playing and I actually won the money back and I was so happy about that but then that seemed so easy to win back, I got greedy and lost it all again. I loved the buzz it gave me. I could feel the relaxation in my body as soon as I made a really risky bet and it came off.
And then it was around mid-April. I'd started to lose a lot of money again. This was more 200/ 300 of losses but I actually ended up winning a lot more, like 600- 800, something like that but I can't really remember. I promised myself that after all those scares and this big win, that I wouldn't do it again. But I did. But this wasn't just a 10 loss or 100. I lost nearly 1500, which was all the money I had. I didn't know what to do because I was meant to be booking a trip away to Amsterdam in a matter of weeks after that. I didn't know what to do or tell anyone.
I did get the money back actually, even though I didn't deserve it and it still bothers me to this day. But I haven't gambled ever since that. I got that worried, I actually prayed and said that if I could get the money back, I would never gamble again.
I went to Dublin with a friend in September and I saw a casino and I really wanted to go in it and I told my friend I did, he said we would. And then later on I remembered the promise I made and told him I just couldn't do it. He understood me.
But I've been a bit down in the dumps and just generally fed up with life for a good few weeks/months now, and I think today that it's hit me quite a bit. And I walked past a casino this evening and saw a photo of roulette on the windows outside and the ball was on 0 and my heart just stopped and I just immediately felt a little buzz like what I used to feel. I just wanted to play, and it makes me wonder if my mind is just missing the fun and excitement..
Any advice out there?

There is a physiological hook in almost every addiction. During gambling the excitement makes the brain release dopamine and the adrenals release adrenalin.
When you are reminded of the gambling your brain tells you - I'm hungry for that rush again
It is an urge that your brain rmembers for a long time and so in every addiction it is better thatyou stay way from reminders or environments that trigger you.

It is hard to say no to any addictions. It can be alcohol, gambling, drug or even overeating. But the most important thing is to diagnose and get treated. Addiction is a phenomenon that is to be taken care of in the initial stages itself, or else it would lead to a situation whereby an individual would be unable to control his or her desire for the things they are addicted to. I had an experience of a similar sort. My boy was very much into gambling, he couldn't help himself come out of the problem he faced. actually, he badly wanted to come out of the addiction he had. But he couldn't. This situation arises because we do ignore our addictions in the initials stages, thinking we would be able to overcome in the future days. But by this time, things would be out of our control. And that's what my boy faced. I knew a rehabilitation centre would be the only solution to this problem. We took him to Canada Drug Rehab in Toronto. Our decision to take him to a rehab was because of an article( https://www.canadadrugrehab.ca/Gambling-Addiction-Treatment.html ) that I happened to see. This could help my boy come out of his problem.
sorry for making it long.
Hope this would help you in any sort
God bless

Hello! I think you need to get over this feeling. Try to get distracted, devote more time to yourself and your loved ones.
If you’re feeling that urge again, I’d honestly take a moment before jumping back in. I’ve found it helps to treat gambling strictly as entertainment, set a firm budget beforehand, and never try to chase losses. When I was looking into different platforms, I came across DuckDice and liked that the information about the site and its games is easy to find in one place. If you’re simply researching the platform, you can check out https://duckdice.io/ and see whether its features suit what you’re looking for. For me, the most important thing is keeping it occasional and within a limit I’m comfortable losing. If gambling starts feeling difficult to control rather than just something casual, I’d step away completely.
