Forgive yourself: for not being able to save the world alone.
When I was a new listener, I struggled with 7cups addiction. I wanted to spend all day on 7cups because - after being powerless for so long - I finally found a way to significantly impact people's lives.
I felt able to transform people's lives for the better. And then I felt responsible for helping as many people as possible.
But eventually I faced burnout and realized I cannot spend this much time on 7cups. It was very painful, but I let go the unhelpful expectations I had of myself. I realized I could not save the world alone. I'm just one person, and while I can make some impact, I can't help everyone.
I learned that if I want to survive and maintain my own mental health, I need to put my own oxygen mask on first. (as they say in airplanes)
I hope this was helpful.

Hey Sky, have certainly missed seeing you around. How have you been? 😊
I appreciate you for addressing this concern, and sharing your own experience with us, I feel many of us are in this same boat haha, we do want to help as many we can and 7 cups is really addictive, i guess it's the people here that make us want to stay longer, and ofcourse this sense of satisfaction of making someone's days better, I relate with you on feeling a good sense of purpose here, that's really gratifying indeed.
But yes ofcourse the unfortunate truth, we only have one "us" and we gotta ensure our own wellbeing before helping others, it just makes sense that an empty cup cannot pour into another no matter how badly it wants to :/
It really does help to remind ourselves of not taking too much pressure of being there for everyone always, we are in a huuuge platform with many kind souls helping out and we all can do it together, supporting and encouraging each other, one chat at a time indeed. At the end of the day, individual efforts accumulate to make this community a brighter and better place. ❤
You are awesome, Sky, keep it up!
