Am I alone?
Hi yall.
So I am an 18 year old girl struggling with a strange addiction. I am addicted to masturbating (God thats such a stupid word) and erotic role play. And its getting really hard to deal with because Im finding myself thinking, Would porn be better? Should I hit this guy/girl up? And so I know its escalating and its driving me crazy! And its super frustrating because almost any time I mention it to a listener they try to flirt with me and ask what turns me on. Its getting bleak right now and Im starting to wonder, Am I alone in this? Please help.

Hello! I am a lesbian girl and I role play alot with my gf, but I am also kind of sexual as well. I just have the body for it. Check out my bio!
@Zulegirl
Good! Do you find that wrong?
@agreeablePond9681
no
@Meg23121 The conventional meaning of addiction is that it's some kind of behaviour that you feel compelled to engage in, and it causes harm, but the compulsion is so strong that you keep doing it despite the harm.
So what you've said here seems incomplete. You masturbate and take part in erotic role play a lot, and you feel you're doing it too much, but you don't say what harm it causes. I wonder, is it just that it causes you inner conflict because in one way you really like it and in another way you don't like it?
If you'd ever like to chat about the situation, I will not try to flirt or ask inappropriate questions. Feel free to click on my profile picture and message me.

@RarelyCharlie I agree with this. Do you feel it truly harms you in any way, or does it just feel weird/taboo to you? Sometimes we might really like things, but not to the point where it hurts us very much :)
@walters So its basically to the point where Im lying to cover it up, its replacing actually valuable activities, I cant go a day without doing it or I get depressed, and Im constantly thinking about sex which leaves me unable to focus.
@Meg23121 Ah, okay. I can see how that'd be a big struggle for you - I can totally understand how you feel. If you'd like to chat feel free to message me - I'm here for you!
Hi @Meg23121,
I have to guess that anything that feels great we use as an escape. Pills, drugs, alcohol, coffee, and sex. Sex has to be the healthiest way to feel good and its private when you need it to be.
If you have any mental health issues like depression, anxiety, or worse; its perfectly natural to try to find a way to feel better. Sex seems the natural choice.
Maybe the stigma of being sexually active bothers you and what ever issues you deal with are amplified afterwards.
Give yourself a break, its not so bad.
An orgasm is simular to the high of a drink or drug, afterwards there can be a down feeling.
Sex is chemistry, the arosal sends signals, the relief is immediate, the orgasm is the reslease of endorphins, and then our thoughts chemically change so we may feel differently, or regrettfully as we are no longer being affected by the bodies chemicals.
What im trying to say is 50% of all people masterbate, and the other 50% lie about it.
Its natural, its exciting, its good medicine!
Enjoy

Thats bullshit that listeners are trying to flirt with you about your addiction. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. It can be frustating when people don't understand the scope of the issue and just how much it's affecting you. You are not alone & i'm struggling with this too.
@Meg23121 Don't worry, you're not alone. I believe I stuggle with the same thing, and it's difficult. There's a lot of stigma and prejudice about the issue, which doesn't make it any better. And I'm so sorry listeners tried to flirt with you, that is so out of place.
@Meg23121 I totally understand Meg! I have the same problem here. It is difficult finding someone who geniunely wants to help. Have you had any luck here? Anyone you could recommend?
You're not alone. I'm sorry that this is happening to you and glad you can come here for support. I would recommend trying to engage in awareness surrounding the problem and possibly mindfulness meditation to help. Maybe trying to do other physical activities may help to ease your mind about it, and remember having someone to talk to instead of engaging in the addiction is always a positive thing as well. Feel free to send me a message if you ever want to talk or find additional support.
WE are not alone!

You're not alone. I was addicted, too. Erotic play and porn will not help you overcome this addiction. Some people/reasearch believe that it's a healthy thing, but it's something that can be very addicting. I struggled for about 5+ years. It doesn't feel healthy.
I overcame with a lot of prayers and confessions, which helped me become more accountable. I will pray for you because this is something God had helped me overcome.
