Need Advice: Porn and Masturbating Addiction
I don’t know what more to say here that hasn’t already been said before. However, this is my struggle with porn and *** addiction and a little insight as to how my mind works and relapses. Right now is a much harder point in my life because I recently graduated from college hoping to get a job out of college but the market for my current industry is down in the trenches. Due to this, I currently live at home with my parents and don’t leave the house as much because I live in a city where there isn’t much to do and the weather is awful making it not ideal to leave. I have conditioned my mind to watch porn and *** when I am bored because of my current circumstances. I wake up and it's the first thing on my mind and find myself on sex-related websites not even realizing that I immediately woke up and without even getting out of bed was immersed in sex-related websites for 2 + hours in bed. I finally get myself out of bed and do whatever small tasks I have for the day such as gym and running errands and then stay locked up in my room all day where then I start to get bored and then turn to porn and ***. I feel like it's an addiction because of multiple reasons. A its not healthy that the first thing I do when I wake up is spend 2 hours without getting up just immersed in thinking about sex and adult websites. Second I can go max 4-5 days without *** but when I fall. I fall hard. If I try to not indulge but then fall after 4-5 days my mindset is “Oh I relapsed today let me just indulge and get out it my system and try again next week” and then go on to *** 4 times a day or just every day until Monday comes and I can restart. I think it's an issue because I have no control. It sucks not having control over your mind. I want to be strong enough to overcome this but I find it immensely hard. I don't know what to do and I am so lost.
I wish you much strength in your journey to find a way to put down this addiction. For me what usually helps the most is to have a tight schedule, even if its talking with friends. Now it has gotten laxer so I am relapsing a lot,yay... Maybe an accountability partner to talk directly when it's really difficult could help.

I appreciate your openness in sharing your struggles. It takes courage to acknowledge and express the challenges you're facing. It's clear that you're dealing with a complex situation, and seeking support is a positive step. It sounds like your current circumstances, such as the job market and living situation, are contributing to feelings of boredom and a reliance on porn as a way to cope. The connection between boredom and engaging in addictive behaviors is a common challenge.
Here are a few suggestions that might help:
Support Groups: Joining a support group or community of individuals facing similar challenges can offer understanding, empathy, and shared strategies for overcoming addiction. Connecting with others who are going through or have gone through similar experiences can be valuable.
Create a Routine: Establishing a daily routine can help break the cycle of boredom. Include activities that are engaging and fulfilling, such as pursuing hobbies, exercising, or learning something new.
Set Realistic Goals: Instead of focusing on long periods of abstinence, consider setting smaller, achievable goals. Celebrate your successes and learn from any setbacks, using them as opportunities for growth.
Mindfulness and Meditation: Practices like mindfulness and meditation can help you become more aware of your thoughts and impulses. They provide tools to redirect your focus and build resilience against urges.
Physical Exercise: Regular physical activity has been shown to improve mood and reduce stress. Incorporate exercise into your routine as a positive and healthy outlet for stress relief.
Remember, breaking free from addiction is a gradual process, and it's okay to seek support along the way. Taking small steps and being kind to yourself are essential components of the journey towards recovery. If possible, involve trusted friends or family members in your support network. You don't have to face this challenge alone, and seeking help is a sign of strength.
hi, i can relate and i want to tell you that you’re not alone. feel free to reach out if you need an ear.
I've been addicted to porn and *** for the last 30 years. I was 14 when I started and its only got worst. I don't have the desire to get a girlfriend because I'll just satisfy myself with porn. Ever since I was 14 ive only ever watched lesbian porn as it really turns me on. I now am drinking and doing cocaine which is leading me to watch alot of taboo stuff which i feel ashamed of.
