Porn Addiction!
I'm glad I'm here! I've struggled with porn addiction! I've struggled with it for a long while now. At 1st I thought it was helpful for me considering I had went through a terrible time with loss and PTSD thought it would feel a huge void on my pain and overall grief and loss. For a long while it had given me thrilling endorphins and felt great seemed to ease some of it.
I also started porn as a outlet for not having a partner as if yet thought it would help explore my likes and dislikes as to what I wanted and enjoyed in which it did ! I'm very lonely and need sexual intimacy as well in my life Its healthy to explore your sexual interests and learn your bodies pleasures and desires ❤❤❤❤

I too suffer from chronic porn addiction, you're not alone. Have you tried any methods to reduce its grip on you? Any that have worked?
As with most things ....it can get out of control.
The reasons you stated are what many do to rationalize ....
"i did it for research " "to see what i like to explore" " i am not in a relationship at the moment"
Many may use as and out let Or to get someone going..... but it is destructive IMO........ when they edit and piece together stretching the footage to extend the porn ........that if you really think about is so fake .......
so a real life encounter with an actual partner ........where some one or both finishes............
WITHOUT 4 position changes ....
all over a couch /a kitchen /empty field / office or even a bedroom
Must seem like a letdown to those who study or buy into these things.

I read Steven Pressfield's book Turning Pro, in which he likens sex addiction as really a desire of the obliteration of one's ego. Porn addiction would fall into the same category. In other words, when you are engaging in an activity to numb the pain, you aren't subject to incessant thinking. It is self-soothing.
Trauma tends to masquerade as addictive behavior. Easy to see then, why one with a lot of pain would turn to the instant gratification of a dopamine dump. What an awful trap. There is a path to recovery, and I believe in you.
Nice to hear there are others who also struggle with this as well
I do try to do self care by mediation or long walks outside or photography or playing with my fur baby or talking to others and other things
Going to join some classes like Zumba or yoga classes to try to use as a distraction
I do have a counselor as well who I see weekly as well.

me too is under the trap of virtual sex feeling by porn.
can't speak of things i do by it but it can really kill me .
It’s important to distinguish when behavior falls into the realm of an addiction. Many people feel shame associated with activities they enjoy, but that shame can be rooted in moral guilt from societal expectations.
And, frankly, there are plenty of sexual behaviors that are perfectly healthy that might fall outside of someone’s perceptions of societal norms. In those cases we might feel shame or guilt just because our desires are demonized by others.
Addiction and compulsive behavior, on the other hand, represent behaviors that cause actual harm. At best, addiction leads me to shun opportunities to better my life, either by refusing to explore in-person relationships or by leading me to neglect my obligations. At worst, addiction leads me to also hurt others, including lying to and ignoring the intimacy needs of partners.
Hey there! I have been just feeling the same! I really feel lonely and I too developed porn addiction...It would be great to be in touch with
I started chatting with a listener today after he had read my thread but I accidentally hid our conversation by accident and I didn't remember the username to search so if you're seeing this please message me back

Its been hard to be honest. I know my emotional injury was depression, loneliness. Now, I am happy and less lonely, but porn addiction has stayed and that itself makes me feel more lonely. Its sadness of some kind, but mostly acts as an escape mechanism for me when I am feeling stressed. But Its not a beginning, I have already learned so much, I am in middle of this journey. Yes I failed today, but I'll try agin, control my mind and keep behaviours in check.
