Hi y’all. I have some things that i just feel like i need to tell someone. A couple weeks ago i got into a huge fight with my best friend and i used to tell her about this stuff, but we haven’t really talked since then. I don’t talk about my mental health with my other friends, so i know i’m keeping a lot bottled up. School has been okay, but recently it’s been feeling like it’s too much and i feel dread when i wake up in the morning knowing i have to go. Ive been on break for the past week and have to go back to school tomorrow. That thought makes me feel like i’m gonna throw up. I would really like to talk to someone more about the in depth stuff, but it feels good to at least start talking about it, even if it’s just on here. if anyone has any tips for anxiety or getting out of a depressed state, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds tough.  You'll find heaps of resources on here that should help.  And feel free to 'vent' to a Listener at some point too.  But - yes - try some basic meditation and mindfulness exercises to get your 'sunday night monday morning anxiety' down (it'll work over time - give it time) and see how you get on....

@MaddieRich0922

School and friendship problems can be overwhelming a lot of times, and I'm sorry to hear that it has caused such a strong impact on your life recently 🥲. It has definitely been really hard for you to keep all that negative emotions to yourself and try to absorb them.

Our emotions can feel very out of control sometimes. To reduce feelings of anxiety, you can try to evaluate your thoughts starting with simple questions like "what's something bad that can possibly happen at school" and "what type of problem would cause my anxiety".

Then, you can try to question the likelihood of these events by asking "is this really going to happen?" and "If this actually happens, what would be the consequence of it?".

When I used this technique, I often found myself overthinking and scaring myself with exaggeration, which is completely normal because that's just what we do when we are anxious and unsure about what's going to happen.

Hopefully, you can find this helpful! and I hope you can feel better soon 💓
