Cancer/Serious Illness anxiety
I’ve had a weird pain in my abdomen for around 6 years now (I am 30yo) and I’ve had tests done and a CT scan, they all came back normal but I’m somehow convinced I have cancer or something very serious. I get bad nausea, especially when I wake up and lately I’ve been waking up at night with a weird feeling like that part of my abdomen is being strained. If I don’t eat regularly it gets worse. My uncle passed away a couple of years ago because of esophagus cancer and I’m afraid I might get something similar.
The pain has been worsening but I’ve had a very stressful period some months ago, with a lot of work and moving houses so anxiety is a possibility but I would only have lunch around 4pm and dinner at midnight during that period and I’m scared I might have developed a stomach ulcer because of not eating enough and that that ulcer might develop into cancer. I feel like I’m going to collapse anytime and don’t know how to get over this feeling.
I have been dealing with anxiety and panic attacks since I was 17 and usually I can tell when it’s anxiety or no but not in this situation and I’m afraid I wasn’t assertive enough with the doctors before and that if I do have something serious it is my fault they didn’t find out sooner because I didn’t push enough for them to do more tests.

remember as always in a doctor patient relationship ... you are the paying person ( even if thru insurance) and there fore the boss .... if a medical professional does not follow through get a second or third opinion they best way is to be your own advocate and log everything and times you ate or pain was worse your mood during any movement you were doing etc.
Medical people sometimes only look for the most obvious and need to be directed to look harder .....i have had many people whom were misdiagnosed because the complaints did not fit the "standard" signs so they never looked for anything else ......
