A little poem

You say "look before you leap,"

but he who hesitates is lost.

"Birds of a feather," they tell me,

but my mind is drawn to what is different.

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder,"

but if you are out of sight, you are out of mind.

They say you attract what you fear,

yet I must face it to live.

"Watch your thoughts," they command,

but a mind cannot be tamed.

You say courage is grace under pressure,

but my grace fractures into rage.
