Eye contact

Does anyone else feel like this? I have been told it is anxienty but I have not met anyone with this.

My eyes are over active to the point of exhaustion .They see everything that goes one around me and it is overwhelming. My head hurts from it.They are always trying to see side, up, right, so much that they look shaky in the mirror.

I think this is mental because this only happen when people are around. Also because I have never had friends My entire life so this feels like an outcome of never having people to imitate and isolation.

@sociablwGrapefruit8486 I'm so sorry you're going through this 🙁 I can relate, it's difficult to maintain eye contact with people after prolonged isolation, but maybe you could start by taking small steps like talking to yourself in the mirror or practicing eye contact with someone you trust. I hope you get more prespectives, You're not alone in this, and you truly matter ❤️ Sending lots of love your way 🐾💕

@sociableGrapefruit8486 That must suck and I experience this too. It gets to a point where it's literally impossible to keep my eyes open because it feels like both my eyes and head are going to implode so what usually helps me is to just start slowly blinking, and in between each blinks, I try not to squeeze my eyes but completely relax them as I am shutting my eyes. Then I open them when I am feeling a bit more at my comfort level. Usually repeating 10 times.

Basically, just like how people practice breathing because they overthink every breath and forget how to breathe, your brain is too focused on every little detail your eyes pick up on, so try to focus on blinking and when you are comfortable enough, immediately do something that requires your full attention if you can, because it takes the focus off your eyes, and you won't think about it too much.

If you catch yourself THINKING about how overactive your eyes are, remind yourself (literally tell yourself) "I got more important things to do!" and just go do it. If you don't know what to do then I guess you now have one new thing to do! Make a list of things you need to and want to do and then go do it. Good luck you got this
