Health Anxiety
Hello, I suffer from health anxiety. I am 22 years old and I am always afraid that something bad will happen to me, I think the worst about everything, it is very difficult to be like this.
Now I have quit smoking and my anxiety has worsened even more, I sleep poorly at night, my muscles are tense and my lower back hurts, which gives me a reason to think about diseases and be afraid. I always google something, when I read the symptoms, I apply them to myself and I feel as if I really experience such symptoms. Has anyone been like this? What can I do? I am going to see a psychiatrist but he does not have appointments until the end of the month, until then maybe you can help me.
I also have a stomach ache, I went to the doctor and he said that I have meteorism due to unhealthy food and I am also taking medication, but 1 week has passed and I still have some discomfort, so I am more worried and think that I have something worse.

When we are stressed or worried it effects our health.
I once was going thru a stressful time regarding a past job the stress manifested in many things and issues went to doctors and no one could pin down what it was could be this or that we can try this med or another one... still there when I took a different job and left the stress and worry all cleared up very quickly. It is a vicious circle of worry about health and then feel more symptoms etc. Reading health things on internet we can talk ourselves into we may have many many conditions.
Besides stress others like a close person in my life that always has something bothering them health wise for attention. it backfired as most grew tired of their endless speculation that they have something horrible.
There is no guarantee we will not end up with a disease but stressing and spending your life waiting for it does not help.
The difference is if two people both received a bad diagnosis one had spent years worried and not really enjoying life can feel angry and full of regrets...... the other who lived their best life and is surprised by diagnosis but not like "see i told you it would happen" can face anything with a more positive and i can beat this too attitude.
