How to comfort a grieving partner

Hi I would like some advice on how to comfort a partner who recently lost a family member. We’re currently long distance, and I want to be present for my partner but whenever I reach out he seems to be distant. I understand completely what he’s going through but my anxiety is making it worse, and I don’t know what to do.

@ljoe

it is hard to be comforting in a long distance relationship as in grief is day to day some days they may want to talk about it and other day want to think of anything else.... when ldr are mostly chatting thru call / text etc hard to read the mood and do things differently like you might see in real life.

In the grief moments in my life no 2 were alike and yet so many think grief is all comparable.

 I totally get how tough it is to comfort your partner during a tough time when you can't be together physically. Just remember that everyone deals with loss in their own way, and your partner might need some space to process their feelings. But that doesn't mean you can't still show your support. Maybe send some sweet texts or care packages to let them know you're there for them. And when they're ready to talk, make sure you're there to listen. Don't forget to take care of yourself too - lean on your friends or do some self-care activities to ease your own anxiety.

I hope this helps 🫶🏻
