I don't even know what this is. Just a random rant

I have struggled with having anxiety for a very long time and it was even more stressful because a lot of people around me (family and friends) don't really understand and they just give advice like: just stop thinking, calm down, it will be fine. I always feel misunderstood and it feels like there isn't really any one I can to it about that actually understands.

Last year I told my parents but mental health is something that isn't really looked into here so they brushed it off. Later this year someone advised my parents to take me to a specialist because it seems like my symptoms were getting worse, which they did after a while.

I am currently seeing specialists and I'm on medications but then it just seems like nothing has changed and sometimes I just feel like I don't see the point of anything and people around me don't still get, it is like they expect me to be fine because I'm on meds and seeing a specialist now and it is really exhausting especially with not feeling safe in a lot of places and also not being able to tell people about my struggles so I just have to act normal.

I understand regardless of your condition mental or physical ........when others around you do NOT see you as you are .... or treat you as if any meds ......suddenly made you " all Better" shows they have no respect for your healing.

This sort of makes a person feel defensive or anxious that others will expect you to be a certain way....or be better already..... so in fact how they are acting are expanding the time you need to feel better.    I quit caring what others  said and made my journey to get better for ME no one else....if someone does not show respect for my journey guess what i show none back.

It's such a struggle to discuss anxiety with people who don't have it.  I get the same feedback: "you good stop feeling that way if you wanted to."  No, it's not that easy.  A lot of times when people who don't have experience with something see someone else struggling, they just assume it's a quick fix.  If you've never experienced a migraine, you assume that just taking some pain reliever is good enough for someone.  It's that sort of thing.

I am tired of some people just wanting me to "get over" my anxiety.  I'd like to, really I would.  But it's not something that happens overnight.  Don't worry about what others think you should do, and if they feel you should be miraculously cured with one therapist session and a pill.  Focus on what you're doing, take your time, and you'll learn a lot about yourself and how to better take care of yourself.

I totally understand. I feel It forces you to live silent. You can't say to others, even ones you are supposed to be close to. They don't understand. And then make you feel even worse. Like an outsider that can't get it together.
