I feel like I messed up today

Hi, everyone,

I feel like I messed up today somehow. Earlier I was feeling sick to my stomach but I couldn't identify what I did wrong. That is typical me. I second guess everything I do and often think I did something wrong. I planning to move in the beginning of May, so I am getting quotes from movers. That is not a fun task. The first mover gave me a price that was twice what I expected. That shocked me, and had me wondering if I could afford to move. I asked them to bring the price down and they did, by $600. But, then I noticed how much weight they are estimating my items to weigh. It's a lot higher than when they moved me into this apartment two years ago. I didn't buy much in 2 years because I'm poor, and I like an emptier looking apartment. So I am asking them if they would give me a another estimate on the weight of my items. And I feel like I did something wrong because they are stalling a little.

I don't think I did anything wrong. So why do I feel this way? I am afraid they will not want my business. That's ridiculous. I am afraid they will be nasty to me. That's silly, too. I feel like I am asking too much. If I am, they'll tell me 'no.' No big deal. I decided that the first price reduction they gave me put them back in the ballpark of making my move affordable. So, even if they say no, I'm going to go with them anyway.

So I still feel bad, like I did something wrong. I'm taking the day off from packing and doing most moving chores. Maybe that's why I feel bad.

I don't know. I just know it isn't a comfortable way I'm feeling right now.

@purpleTree4652

asking for people to give you a fair estimate or correcting an over guesstimate of weight is fine ... you did nothing wrong.

I find it odd lately it seems if a person asks for a job to be done correctly people act as if they did something.

🌊@purpleTree4652 I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling uncomfortable and anxious about the situation with the mover. It's understandable to feel anxious about big changes like moving, especially when it involves financial decisions and coordinating with others. It's important to remember that you're doing the best you can and that it's okay to ask for what you need. It sounds like you're being proactive by asking for another estimate on the weight of your items, which is a responsible thing to do. It's also okay to take a break and prioritize self-care during this stressful time. Remember to be kind and patient with yourself, and try to focus on the positive aspects of the move, such as a new beginning in a new place.☀️
