It's 3am, thinking about death (general, not sui)
TW: talks about death, possibly anxiety-enducing
Isn't it scary how we can suddenly die at any given moment?
Right so this person, my mom's uncle from grandpa's side, died in his sleep. Never met him, though I've heard about him. Mom told me she told he just went to sleep, talks through dinner too, but never woke up next morning.
It's so sudden and it makes me think we don't really have control over that, do we? I could die tonight in my sleep, and I wouldn't be able to help it.
Used to think I wouldn't mind dying but faced with the thought that it could happen anytime, it's quite scary.
Imagine suddenly being gone.
@DreamyPal
honestly am so terrified of death and dying but dying in your sleep sounds a lot better than other ways. I get burnouts anxiety overthinking about fact that in any moment I could just stop existing. I can’t describe it. Would I even know it? Is it scary? Does it hurt? I will never be ready.. I can’t imagine being gone and I don’t even want to. Omg am gonna stop now cuz…yeah. I wish death was simply not part of our lives. I can’t comprehend it. Can’t accept it.
Thank your for this post. It was a time were I thought about posting something similar but I wasn’t ready. Also am sorry for your family’s lost and for the trigger it gave you. Guess one way to deal with it could be not thinking about it too much. If it gets overwhelming try distracting. Sometimes works for me. You are not alone. Best of wishes
I and my mom discussed this at dinner of all places. I told her I'm so scared to die and I don't want any other family or pets. she looked me in the eye and said, 'No one really dies; it's just their spirit leaving their body. everyone you've known and know now will appear in your next life as you need them.'
*** brought me to tears at a restaurant. made things a little easier to think about
@DreamyPal that is an understandable thought that end up ruminating in everyone's mind a certain time in life. Yes, life is unpredictable. And a person passing away suddenly leaves the gates wide open for these thoughts to sink in. It was the only topic in a philosophy class I took. The thing to do is live a happy life. Make a life for yourself that has no room for regrets or missed opportunities. You still have a lot of control over your life. Mold it into how you want it and always be able to say I did it my way. Sudden passings like these often end up involving something that was never monitored. So, be the type who gets regular checkups. It is fortunate he passed so peacefully. That's how everyone would like it. That aspect of life may not be in our circle of control completely. But the rest of your life still is. People take life for granted but really, it's like a gift. And you can live the best life possible with no barriers stopping you from achieving your dreams. The veil between here and after is thin. But there's no reason you can't live to 100 with modern medicine. I hope the best for you. If you get famous keep me in mind.

Sometimes me and my mom would bring up the discussion about death and how we can die anytime without knowing it. We could die when we are with friends or watching a movie. Lately however my mom has been scaring me about all the bad things that is happening in this world and that the earth might die soon. Which I am afraid of I am afraid of dying because I am too young. However God only knows when our time is up.
