Late night thoughts
Why do I stress myself so much?
Why do I push myself to be "someone"?
Even then, will I be satisfied?
Will I ever feel content?
Am I just wasting time, spending what feels like a lifetime of energy, resources and mind space?
What if I don't live long enough to see my plans fulfilled?
Is forgetting how to even have fun, losing friends and family and everything that doesn't bring an income.. worth it?
The alternative doesn't seem all that better either.
Then what do I do?
Follow a long term happiness that I might or might not reach?
Or focus on the moment, fleeting as it is, followed by possible struggle to make ends meet for the rest of my life?
Does any of this matters?
Does anything matters?
I'm just a person among endless others.
What makes what I call struggle all that special?
Am I just ungrateful?
Am I just thinking too much?
I still feel like I HAVE to choose.. something.
Do I have to choose?
@mont22ha all of these thoughts are natural and humane, you seem like a person who has a lot of insight and tends to do their best. While this is important and I admire you for your hard work and for your insightful thoughts, I believe that prioritizing yourself, your health, your happiness and your connection to yourself might be helpful. Being recognized at work can be very important for some people, while for others it may be not important. In contrast, for some people it is more important to have better connections with people while for others this aspect is not as important. I believe that most people aim for balance, it depends on what makes you truly happy and on what you want to achieve. Personally, I am more happy with prioritizing my loved ones while also trying to gain knowledge and skills that will help me sustain myself and help my loved ones, the environment, animals and other people. Try to look at your present and try to answer your questions one by one, you are the one who knows better about what you want, what makes you happy, your goals etc. Please know that your worries are humane and normal, also know that the 7 cups community, other listeners, other people and me are here for you to support you and offer a listening ear. You can always message me and I'll do my best to offer support and a listening ear to you!
@Aec619
I'm well aware that my little existential crisis isn't spécial, most people will go through this eventually I feel like. Contemplating life, priorities and choices isn't new or inhumane.
Knowing this I still think, constantly .. even when I don't want to.
Sometimes you don't get a gray option tho, you really have to choose one thing or the other.
@mont22ha even though this is a natural situation for all of us, you yourself are special and I admire you for your insightful thoughts and for being brave enough to share them! It really depends on you, you are the best person to answer these questions but please know that I am here for you and you can message me so I can offer support to you and listen to you. You deserve to make the decision that will truly make you happy
Mont22ha: I think you are on to something. You have value not because of what you achieve, but because who you are. You worth is given to you by God. Just do things that are meaningful to you and don’t worry about how much you accomplish. Hope that helps. What do you think?
@azureAcres1605Nothing is meaningful to me
I just live to .. live another day.
Even my ambition for success is not for material gain or to reach a certain goal no , wouldn't even know what to buy if I had all the money in the world
It's more to.. prove something to myself maybe? Achieve something?
But even then, when it's all over, I don't think I'll be satisfied. Hard work is all im ever good at.
It's the only thing I have.
@mont22haThese are really deep and important questions you're asking—it's natural to wonder about meaning, purpose, and what truly matters. Sometimes, the pressure to "be someone" can feel overwhelming, and the uncertainty about the future makes it hard to find peace. You don’t have to have all the answers right now, and it’s okay to take time to explore what feels right for you. Balancing long-term goals with moments of joy can be tricky but also meaningful. Remember, your struggles are valid, and your feelings matter. Would you like to talk more about how to find small steps toward clarity or peace?
