My relationship anxiety is so suffocating, it hurts, I can’t breathe or concentrate…
I feel physically ill when my anxiety strikes… I can’t control it anymore and there isn’t clear triggers anymore. It’s all the time. It my relationship…
I spent 17 years in a severely toxic relationship very violent and controlling. He took his own life…
I have a new partner and no matter what seem to feel he’ll abandon me, that he’s cheating and I doubt him and get very jealous of his time away from me. How do I help fix this so I don’t lose him. There have been some things that I think are signs of cheating but I can’t tell for sure if it’s that or my past trauma…
I’ve spoken to him, counselling hasn’t helped much. And I’ve tried lifeline. I need someone who isn’t a bot to talk to!
@HollyJade14 I am sorry to hear about your experiences. Feeling physically ill due to anxiety can be incredibly challenging. The prolonged duration and unclear triggers can make it even more difficult to manage. Your experience in a previous toxic relationship understandably leaves you feeling uncertain and anxious in your current relationship. These emotions are valid, and it is important to address them openly with your partner. We are all here with you to listen to and to support you.
Thanks so much for the response! It helps to have the reassurance that I’m not crazy or over reacting. I just wish there was a way for my partner to understand that I need a little more reassurance not to be annoying or needy but cause I was so broken and I believed it with all my soul that I was unlovable and everyone is likely to abandon me and find someone better. I can’t shake the worry that he really is cheating and using my trauma to deflect. I have spoken to him and it just frustrates him and he gets so angry that I doubt him. Is that because he is innocent or guilty and mad at being challenged? I just need to know so I can make my brain find peace. I can’t find peace and can’t quiet the anxiety. Sometimes I want to make it all go away to get away from the anxiety. Then I find myself depressed and emotional and unable to show up for my job and my kids and just adulting….
sorry for unloading. I just feel so lonely! I wish I was as valuable as his friends. He spends more time on his phone and talking to them and spending time with them than me. What’s wrong with me. I thought for a minute I was worth more but now I’m back to doubting.
