Hi I'm new on here. I suffer from chronic anxiety disorder, overthinking, chronic stress, & poor sleep. I feel so alone even in a room full of people. I'm always in my head,  in my thoughts, negative thoughts come and I try to cast them out by staying as positive as I can. Its so hard to fake being okay

this is honestly so real oh my gosh, like no matter how many friends I have or people I talk to I still feel completely alone. Finally someone else who understands it.

Hey, I totally understand what you are going through. I been experiencing this since I was a childhood and tried different coping mechanisms but lately nothing has worked

So sorry that you’re suffering from chronic anxiety. Anxiety, overthinking, stress, poor sleep, feeling alone even when people are around you, being in your head and in your thoughts, negative thoughts coming in, in addition to other things are things that I believe everyone goes through at some point in their lives whether they admit it or know it or not. It may not be chronic or severe for everyone but everyone has these problems during their lives. And the ones who keep trying, keep pushing and continuing on eventually overcome all these issues. They could come back or they may not.

I’ve had these problems myself before. But overthinking, poor sleep, always in my head/thoughts whether anyone’s around me or not are things I’m still living with and it’s a struggle. Stress too.

As for faking being ok, I don’t fake anything. I’m too authentic to fake anything. My thought process and what motivates me not to fake it is having a conversation with myself and saying “My/your life is already as difficult as it is. Why would you wanna add to that difficulty by faking anything when you have the control, the ability and all that to make it easier by being authentic? If anyone doesn’t like or accept you as your true self, so what? It’s their loss bc they lost an opportunity to be friends with you. Don’t give people like that the power to make life even more difficult by faking it. No one deserves to have power over you. Only you deserve to have the power over yourself.”

I keep having that conversation with myself whenever I know I’m gonna be around people especially if it involves meeting someone/people new.

@KranialAktivity I'm finding that while it doesn't always help the core issues, I'm trying not to fake seeming ok. As much as possible, I'm trying to be open with how I feel, as long as it's the right people. Telling my colleagues or manager at work that things are a little rough at the moment, even if I don't deep-dive. Letting friends know I'm struggling. This sometimes opens up dialogue where others can give insight and advice. It's not fixing the issues I have, but I'm trying to not "fight it" all alone. (Part of the reason I started checking 7 Cups out as well.)

You know your words reminded me that there's never been a day were I say "I'm good or I'm okay now" I don't even know what it means to feel that emotionally stable.
