Studying doesn't make sense

I have a big exam soon. But I don't know how to study. The stress instead of making me productive made me mentally and physically sick. Like paralysed. I decided to take a break of a day and not go to the study sessions that are obligatory this morning. Know, I'm scared I lost time... I'm anxious about next morning, I hate these sessions ... Other people's study methods don't work with me. Organisation is too hard. I feel confused and my brain is lessed up. I hate the pressure put on us. I want the exam to disappear forever. Everything is too hard, and nobody gets it. I just can't " just do it" . And I did every method. It's just .. . Something's missing. Probably energy. That's why I took a break. The worst is I know I'm gonna work extra hard last minutes, but with mid results... What do I do?

I can relate.

Something that I've found to be effective for taking the pressure off is breaking a task into smaller parts and providing a reinforcement. Like one page of studying is 30 seconds to a minute of a preferred activity. Finishing the study material means the grand reward, whatever that would be for you.

It takes practice.

Rather than eating a full course meal all at once, split it up in a easy to digest way.

I totally relate. It is really exhausting to feel that way.

Maybe you could ask to study with a friend and copy what they are doing. I find studying with a friend to help with motivation and this way you don't need to know how to study, you just copy them.

Or maybe ask your teacher or a tutor to help you know what precisely you need to study for the exam and how to do it. This won't help with how to study, but at least give you more of an idea.

These might not work, but that is okay. Just know that you are not alone, so many people feel like this, especially in stressful times like that. You are doing you best and that is all you can do. Try to take things slow to not overwhelm you more. It will all be okay eventually!

I wish you the best of luck and hope you will do well on the test!
