Trying My Best At Work

So it’s frustrating that I’m doing my best and it’s not seen as competent. I have a supervisor who I know is under stress but I feel she projects her fears onto us. Well hey I’m not perfect either. I work with kids and I think I’m a bit lenient and I struggle with finding my voice. Last week I set boundaries and one of the kids hated me for it. That’s the thing about life. It’s so messy, we can all try our best but something isn’t the “right” way to do something. I’m just venting my frustrations and I’m not going to be that hard on myself because I’m human and I’m going to make mistakes.

@Shyness98

It can be challenging working with kids and trying to set boundaries with them, while still maintaining a positive relationship with them as well. It’s a tough balance to strike. Venting is a good way to let it all out. Hope it helped give you some relief!💜

Hi Shy, how are you doing?

I can understand why you're feeling frustrated. It's never easy when our efforts aren't recognized or appreciated, especially when we're putting in our best. Your work with children is no doubt a challenging task, and finding a balance between being lenient and assertive is a common struggle. It's commendable that you set boundaries, even though it may have resulted in some pushback. Remember, it's okay to make mistakes, and it's part of the learning process. You're human, and it's important to be kind to yourself and not be too hard on yourself.

Thank you so much for the compassion! I have my good days and bad days. Luckily I have more good than bad. I’m so grateful that we have a supportive community where we can all be seen and are allowed to vent.

@Shyness98 How are you doing now?

Whatever you are doing is really commendable and the mistakes are just a stepping stone in the learning process. It is okay to get frustrated sometimes, but just keep in mind that you are doing great!

Thank you so much. I’m doing okay. Im definitely going to practice self compassion on a daily basis and yes thank you for reminding me that mistakes are apart of the game. I feel like people forget that we’re human and are going to make mistakes.
